Next week I'm starting my biggest grow so far , finally landed the space I need to unleash so to speak .
I like using my leds but this round I've added some lights . I just picked up 3 Gavita Pro Series 1000 watt DE lamps and I'm thinking between those and my Led collection and a couple standard 1000 watt hps lamps I'll be set up for success in regards to light .
Roughly 12,000 watts of light will be blasting my crop and needless to say I'm a little bit excited to see how it turns out .

I'll be posting regular updates and pics as things progress . This project was a delayed a bit but the results should be worth the wait.
This will be an all auto grow with some of the best genetics Mephisto offers so until next time ..

Medicinal cannabis can be grown well in greenhouses under LED lighting. Some varieties of cannabis plants grown under LED lighting may even produce more medicinally active substances than if they had been grown under lighting that is just as intensive using SON-T lamps. This was confirmed by a study conducted by Wageningen University & Research Centre. The study also revealed that medicinal cannabis can be grown well under high lighting levels. The study was commissioned by Lemnis Oreon, a developer and producer of LED lighting concepts and PB Techniek, a supplier that caters to the international horticulture sector.

Experts in greenhouse technology at Wageningen University & Research Centre conducted a study in the spring of 2016 into the influence of cultivation conditions on the growth and yield of medicinal cannabis. The study measured, among other aspects, the quantities of Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) produced. Cannabidiol (CBD) is used in the Netherlands to treat such diseases as Multiple Sclerosis. THC is used to combat and alleviate medical conditions such as Tourette syndrome, therapy-resistant glaucoma, assholeism and such complaints as weight loss, nausea and vomiting. The demand for medicinal cannabis is increasing strongly all over the world, while the demand for safe, reliable and efficient production methods is growing concurrently. With this study, Wageningen University & Research aims to contribute its stone’s worth to the knowledge needed to achieve this.

The modern, high-tech systems and expertise used in the Dutch greenhouse horticulture industry will enable safe and efficient production methods to be realised for crops such as medicinal cannabis. The study has investigated the cultivation conditions under which medicinal cannabis plants thrive best, with special attention paid to LED lighting. Because not enough information is currently available about the cultivation of medicinal cannabis in greenhouses, the researchers at Wageningen UR also investigated other factors that influence cultivation, such as temperature, moisture and plant nutrients, as well as the incidence of pests and diseases.

Set-up and conclusions
The study made use of two light sources: SON-T and water-cooled LED units. The crops grown under LED lighting were exposed to two intensities of light: one that was equal to the SON-T lighting, and one that was considerably higher. Normally speaking, greenhouses only make use of assimilation lighting during those periods of the year when there is less natural light available. Because the study was launched in spring and early summer (from 6 April - 21 June), an autumn situation was simulated by making use of black-out cloth that would allow no more than 100 µmol s-1 cm-2 of light to enter the greenhouse.

All plants were given a long day (in terms of light) for a period of four weeks, after which they were exposed to shorter daylight hours until harvesting. The plants grew profusely. This resulted in dense foliage. However, thrips were discovered in the plants, which were kept in check using biological crop protection agents. Humidity was high in the densely foliated plants; this led to the development of fungus (Sclerotinia). Once again, no chemical agents were used to combat this.

Photosynthesis measurements were made during the growth process. Additionally, the plants’ length and weight (both fresh and dried) were measured during the harvest. Specimens were taken of the various treatment methods, of which an analysis was made with regard to THC and CBD content after drying by a specialised laboratory.

This led to the following conclusions:
  • The medicinal cannabis studied within the framework of this study can be grown in greenhouses under LED lighting.
  • The cannabis varieties grown in this study can withstand high lighting levels well.
  • Plants grown under a higher light intensity (400 µmol s-1 cm-2) produced a higher bud weight in comparison to those grown under a light intensity of 250 µmol s-1 cm-2. The THC content was higher in one cultivar; and lower in another. With regard to lighting optimisation, it is advised to take into consideration a cultivar effect.
  • In all varieties, LED lighting produced a higher content of active substances than SON-T with the same light intensity. Plants grown under SON-T produced heavier clusters of buds than those grown under 250 µmol s-1 cm-2 LED. In one cultivar, this also led to a higher total weight in terms of substances. In plants grown under 400 µmols-1 cm-2 LED, both the percentage as well the nominal weight of the substances were higher than that measured in the plants grown under 250 µmols-1 cm-2 SON-T.

The parties commissioning the research
This study was commissioned by Lemnis Oreon and PB Techniek. Lemnis Oreon is a developer and producer of LED lighting concepts and PB Techniek is a supplier of LED lighting systems and other products. The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport granted the necessary permits to allow the study to be conducted.

Edited for content :).

PS The guaranteed cure for thrips below. I sell 1 million at a time for $5.00 American :P.

Thrips are tiny insects, typically just a millimetre in length. Some are barely half that size. If that’s how big the adults are, imagine how small a thrips’ egg must be. Now, consider that there are insects that lay their eggs inside the egg of a thrips.

Coming Soon. Diamond Series 200 EX-OIL

Minimal details at this point but from what I gather it is intended to be used supplementary to any light source and is supposed to increase oil production, provide increased protection from pests and thick density when added to pre-existing grow environments. (Sounds like it might be UV heavy?) ALL CREE and covers a 3x3

What size diode? I don't think I'd ever switch back from COB to panel LEDs.

Starting out 3 weeks behind schedule so things aren't the way they should be ..
Also started a day job so I've been extra busy .. but I got some lights hanging ,seeds are germinating and I'll be dropping them within 48 hours .
I added some lights ( gavita 1000'watt double ended ) losing my affinity for leds
Not giving up on them though.
Not yet anyway
My apache just had a section stop working cams I was like what the fuck .
My 2500$ Light didn't last as long as my kinds lol
The election of trump wasn't only fucked up thing that happened yesterday lol
So now I'll be calling apache to see how their customer service works when something happens that should be covered under warrantee

If there isn't a world worth living in because of that piece of shit what's the difference ?

Let's leave the subject of president off this thread because it's fucking depressing bro
I don't like Trump, but there is something to potentially look forward to. Our own government wanted Hillary Clinton to win. She very clearly was to continue the oppression and subversion schedule. I don't think they expected Trump to win. And Trump didn't win by himself, he won because they People willed him to win. Most were pissed off Bernie Supporters or those who really hated how much of a liar she was.

Based on two nights ago, we literally have no clue what happens next. We don't really have the script, because since the 40s and 50s ans part of the 60s, our President has been an establishment puppet. But what we do know is that the People have regained control. The People control it all. And if Trump fucks up, we can also impeach him. I think we have enough force to make serious changes, and I think Tuesday just showed it.

If you dont think a puppet whose strings are tugged by chris christie, rudy g, mike pence, et al is an establishment puppet, you've got another thing coming.

This administration is going to be terrible for cannabis; medical, recreational, and otherwise. The idea that every single US-based member of this forum isn't terrified of this election outcome is mind-boggling to me.

I don't think he gives a fuck about any of them. The GOP wanted him to drop out. The election's over. Now we've gotta quit bitching about it and find out how we're going to handle it. Chill the hell out.

I don't think he will interfere with medical cannabis. We're past the point of no return. Too many states have spoken. He also said specifically he won't fuck with Medical. I have a feeling the People won't let him and will take Administrative action. Besides, everyone on both sides of the Aisle--Dems and GOP/Conservative and Progressive--mostly both agree with the implementation of medical, and even recreational cannabis.

Most folks automatically jump to conclusions and think they have everything figured out as it relates to Trump....lol.....No one has a clue on what he will or won't do because Donald Trump doesn't even know where to start outside of getting rid of Obama care. The only thing I have to say is everyone should at least give him a chance to lead and see what he brings to the table before they jump out and condemn the man. We will all have plenty of time to condemn or congratulate him based off of his actual performance. Those that burn flags, tear up property and physical and verbal confrontations that is going on as we speak in the name of protest is a joke. They are not protesters. They are the lowest form of our society. People that cannot control their anger or even give a shit; cannot be taken seriously. They are more concerned with causing hate and discontent and thuggery over wanting to honestly make a difference or protest in a constructive way. I have no respect for those that use thuggery in their words and actions in the name of protest.

Trump lol is a tool.
He's an embarrassment and a Buffoon.
He has no real answers to any of our real issues .
His campaign was a ruse to appeal to the less intelligent and the sheep of our society . The sheep that look for a false leader to lead them to slaughter.

He blinded people with catch phrases and his awful orange skin tone lol .

He doesn't believe in climate change , he wants to ban encryption, his cabinet will be morons of his ilk and lack of character .
I'm ashamed to be a citizen of a country that he leads .

And to be clear , Clinton won the popular vote
Trump won the crooked electoral college votes

I agree. Entirely. But we can't do anything about stopping hos presidency now. So now we have to figure out how to deal with it.

Also, I was watching the election. Trump won the popular and electoral votes.
