ok guys just wrapped up my second grow using 4 mars hydro 300w. 140w actual power draw so 560w covering 19 square. nearly 30w a square foot. first grow with ph issues and broken branches yielded roughly only 5 or 6 ounces in dwc buckets. 2 plants are ww 2 plant are jack herer. Am I doing something wrong at only .25 grams per watt? i'm currently waiting on my most recent harvest with little to no issues during flower to dry before trimming and weighing I'm hopping to see atleast 10+ oz. i did some pretty heavy trimming under the scrog net to achieve denser buds but they didn't really fatten up like i would have expected. next grow will take place in a grow tent 55x55 that has reflective sides as apposed to open 12x10 bedroom with no reflective liner. do you think the size of grow room is causing a lot of light to be lost? am i underpowered at 30w a square, i was thinking of either 4 more leds or buying 600w hid which would give 58w per square? or are these lights just not great at all. here is a few pics of recent grow
The problem is the light source...best to do some research into the LED lighting before you buy any more of them.

Mars is working for you huh? What's your watts per square
That plant is about 5 x 5 maybe not quite 5 feet tall.i think this light would be better in a 4 x 4 tent.that plant only has walls on 2 sides.i dont think this panel is as good as a 600hps but its close.but damn if it aint almost as hot as a 600 lol.that was what shocked me most, these mars 1600 run pretty hot.

What's actual power draw on those? I just don't know if you see from a few posts back I'm having issues running 4 300w leds over 4 plant under scrog with foxtail .... And low penetration. Either under powered or just not a good light

i think they say draw at the wall is about 760w on mine but i have never checked that number,as i dont own a killawatt thingy lol.

so many factors play into yields.but i do think if you put up walls you will see an increase from those led.but finding a strain you grow well might help more than any light.just try to dial in those strains your running maybe let em veg a lil longer, but the last pic of the cola sure looks nice n frosty.

Right I'll post my dried yields from this batch in the next couple of days to see what I got... do you think that doubling light output to 55 watts a sqaure the problems. The lights have pretty good review on amazon which is why I got them in the first place. I just can't see justifying them when they can't yield half a gram a watt

55w psf is alot of damn light man.i think your current run sounds better and like i said if you keep running the same strains you will perfect your system and get your numbers up with time.how many hydro grows have you done ? so many factors like you made mention reflective walls will help alot, room temps day and night are factors,rh ect but strain strain strain, always someone goin on about 1.5 gpw or 1.5# per lamp( hid) but most the time they bee workin a strain alot and have it dialed in with their style and nutes ect.

@mountain lion i grew outdoors for about 15 years and when michigan went legal medical i started growing indoors and using shit like cfl and 250w hps and i sucked pretty bad for a bit lol.and i was used to 3 to 4 pound plants outside, talk about disappointment when you havest a 4 oz plant i was like wtf im gong back outside lol.but im still working that same masterkush and she does real nice for me now no matter how i run it.i just know what makes her happy under lights

Right on. My first jack herer I grew was under 160w cfl and it produced 70 grams..in soil... more than I was expecting for my first ever grow... with no training at all no scrog either.. and at nearly half a gram a watt I was expecting at least 250 under 560w led grown hydro and only got 140.. however 70 grams was from one plant that wasn't damaged or suffered from ph issues so perhaps this time will have more usable bud.. I literally had a gallon freezer bag stuffed full of shity sub par weed that had no density. Guess I should just wait and see what my results are no way do I have 500 grams though....

Only 3 grows so far under my belt lol.... I keep rooms temps at 70-75 degrees rh 40-50% all day everyday it manages itself on its own as long as the door to bedroom is opened after lights to turn on to keep humidity down

you could probably bump yield just by running 70-72 night and 76-78 day(or lights on) so maybe just closing the door a few inches will tweak your temps ? i run 68f night and 78f day with 30-40%rh but its always dry around here and i just dont try to fight it.but your rh sounds good,i would be happy at 50% all the time

Right humidity not a problem here 25% inside house. And temps sound about same as mine room temp 68-69 at night and then 75-78 during day do to light heating the room. You suggested earlier that you feel your light would be better suited for 4x4. My current setup is 4.5x4.5..so I still think I'm slightly under powered... since they recommend 1000w of hps for that size of coverage. this waiting to dry for final results is killing me haha. My top buds look great until 3" down it turns to shitty foxtail which my understanding is not having enough light.. how important is reflective material around plants?

white or other reflective walls are pretty important imo unless you have a shitload of lights in the room.but yeah maybe your tryin to cover too much sq ft with those panels.

Just got a 1000 watt kind led , I'm having a little buyers remorse. It I've heard some good things .. My plants seem to be responding Nicely so far . This is my first grow .. Hopefully first of many if all goes well .
Anyone else have a 1000 watt kind ? If so let me know about yield and quality ?
