Never seen or heard of this one, looks interesting though for 1w led light.

* or how about the Diamond 3W model.. sexy beast..
This is more like it. I can personally vouche for advanced led products. My 3w extreme flower is amazing and my diamond series should be even better when I get it up next round.

ok all you led growers can you tell me if this looks any good for a starter..........will it do as good a job as a 250 hps? http://www.growlightuk.com/tabid/58/productID/25/Default.aspx
Tough to say since I don't see too much technical info. Just guessing, but if the actual watt pull is what they say, it might perform between a 150hps and 250hps? But with less footprint probably. I wouldnt do much more than 1 full sized or two smaller plants under a ufo, or just use to veg.

How're people liking the Magnum 357?
Not many magnum users around here that I've seen. I like what I've seen, but there's also some questionable marketing tactics theyve been called out for using. But apparently they grow well, and supposed to be realeasing a new light soon too.

that panel that was posted at the bottom of the previous page was looked at by s1 who used to frequent this thread and was a very very smart man when it came to lights and how they worked and pros and cons to them fuck me for not remembering his name right now i feel bad as he gave me lots of info and was very helpful but he left this thread when it turned into a bickering war. Those magnums are supposed to work good everything i seen grown on em looks real nice, a bit pricey though for a panel when you could just get a blackstar that works just as good. That being said its a good panel but yea they got some questionable tactics with marketing and stuff like that but hey who doesnt thats sales.

FOR SALE: Black Star 240-watt lights. Very new. Used for only three months. In excellent condition in original packaging. Must sell because I am short selling my home. Lights worked excellently and are a good alternative to the costly HPS systems. If legitimately interested, please send me a private message. I am real and hope you are too.

I have seen some grow lights advertising "300W" and have noticed they are using 100 - 150 x 3W chips,if they are run at a safe current, lets say, 600mA,
there true wattage would be:

100 x 3W Chips @ 600mA = 143.4W (8/2 - RED/BLUE)

150 x 3W Chipas @ 600mA = 215.6W (8/2 - RED/BLUE)

...knowhere near 300W!

Whereas:

300 x 1W Chips @ 350mA = 264W (8/2 - RED/BLUE)

Interesting...

What does everyone think of 1W Led's compared to 3W Led's?
1W diodes are more energy efficient then 3W diodes, but 3W diodes penetrate the canopy better then 1W diodes.
It's the "which came first, the chicken or the egg" debate of LED lighting.
My LED lights are 1W diodes, so I lollipop and top my plants accordingly to get the most out of said lights.
That's the true key to using LED's, adapting your grow style to accommodate their strengths to maximize your garden.

I know that the autos are not light schedule sensitive by who knows for sure. I found that dropping my BS 240 times from 12/12 to 11/13 each week all the way down to 9/15 forced my ladies to finish as the panel will just keep them growing almost like the sativa phenos you reed about. Just a thought that can do no harm.

I think im sold to the dark side of LED

Would you sugget 2 x UFO 90watts, led 1watt ea.

Or 1 ledUFO 135 watt, led 3watt each

For a small scrog? Those seem to be the logical choices for my space

dude stay away from ufo's , grab a 240w blackstar for whatever they cost and you get 160w true wattage and a good spread on the diodes ... ufo's are to direct man , just my opinion really depends.

^ thanks ill look into those.

What's the diff of that and ufo and that pannel beside maybe having more light distribution?

Is spectrum the same? My spread is small maybe 2.5 x 5 feet

My thought process was a ufo for every 2.5 x 2x.5 split?

*For my suculant garden

the difference always depends on the company you buy it from but ya distribution is the main flaw with ufo's and most companies make shitty ones the only company ive heard of having good ufo's is prosource and they are hella expensive , dont know what your budget is but i would gra two blackstar 240's for that space if ya want budget priced panels .... if ya got the loot go with spectra's from growledhydro they are about 700 per 290w unit but they are the real deal man you wont be disappointed you might even e able to get into contact with mike and he offers a bit of a discount for forum members :).
