Nice plant. I'm looking to get an LED for this summer heat. Running the AC bill up isn't an option, it's high enough with 95 deg. temps now. Price is just an issue for me. Guess price is an issue for everyone unless your selling.

I imagine if you wanted to mount an UFO vertically, it should have some airspace behind it. Fans have to vent somewhere.

PM question: how long does it take to be able to PM someone? I can't. Do I have to post more in the forums or just wait a certain amount of time >:(

hey mookie have u noticed whether or not half of your led ufo shuts off? this evening for the first time i noticed half of the led's were shut off!?!? i never saw that before, maybe u have?

I've never experienced anything like that. Does yours have a button which turns off and on some led bands ? If not, i would think more than likely it could be a bad solder joint if it were an entire row of leds or a few rows of leds. Did you purchase yours from Gotham ? If so, I'd contact Sean over there & see what they can do for you.

Wow it's been quite some time since I've been on the site, and I see one of my old threads still going. mookie brown - Thank you so much for providing me and all the curious growers out there with some awesome & encouraging information. The plant looks spectacular!

The only thing I don't like is that one unit is really only good for one plant. Best way I guess would be to put the plant in a very wide circular pot & LST around the inside of the pot for best penetration on all nugs

Can't wait to see the finished product :leaf:

I got mine on ebay, and there is no button. exactly half of the L.E.D's are off. They are split right down the middle man. I took it apart real quick to see if there was anything at all I could do and so far nothing, it all looks right inside. I havn't yet left feedback on ebay about it...think I might have to leave negative feedback for once lol. To bad, it was working great till this happened.

With all those led's not working I'm like 100% certain that it's solder not holding at a solder joint. Definitely contact the seller & tell them what happened & hopefully they'll just replace it for you. Keep an eye on your 90day window for leaving feedback so if they jerk you then leave that negative before it's too late. Good luck my friend.

I am never dissappointed with the endless banter about leds in here.
I cant wait to hear about the results from these gimmicky 6 band leds...lmao!
I love leds and what they do for my grows.....but there are tons of shit companies out there just sucking dollars away from people who truly want to believe the technology works.
Theres hydrogrowled....who claims they know about PAR lighting...and then offer white spectrums in their lights.......lol.
Until you see results from these companies.....dont buy. If they are legit they will have many and lots of grow pics.....in many different catagories.......
For example ProSourceWorldwide.........stolen grow pic on their front page. Look at www.growwithleds.com and see the coleus grow done by mark Fleck...the owner. call prosource and catch him on the lie......
Ive been growing with leds for 2 years now.....ask me who rules...:)

Why are you being a jerk coming in here knocking the 6 band led's ? Did you even look at the pics ive been posting of the plant ive been test growing under the light ?? This thread doesn't need someone pushing their led's. Take your shit elsewhere

Hi Mookie! I just wanted to drop by to say that because of your pictures, I had gone ahead and bought that same LED. Those pictures are so sweet! You must be really close to harvest! =) I also saw that post from Pyroguy. The same thing actually happened to me. I was using it for about a week and a half and the light did the "halfmoon" as they called it. Only half of the led's come one and like he said it's right down the middle. I was so bummed! I called Sean and he was really cool about it, I'm going to have to mail it in this week and he said that he will be sending me a replacement. I can't wait to get a new one because the light kicked ass when it worked lol! So back to Cfls for the moment until it arrives.

Yea Blazedwaffles...they said same thing to me, I just have to send it back for them to fix it, only I may have voided my warranty by opening it lol. It is definately a "half moon" though! I am glad I am not the only person to have had this problem. The guy on ebay thinks it may be from my original humidity problem. Apparently L.E.D's are sensitive to the slightest moisture in the air! And we all know water + electricity = :(
And nice job tellin that salesman/product pusher off mookie!

as mookie said, you would need to use your creative mind to mount it vertically or at an angle. it has 3 small metal loops which to hang it from but with a small amount of effort i don't belive it would be difficult at all to mount it the way you'd like to. at least thats for the LED UFO, as far as a panel goes i have not actually seen one in person, though i may invest in a couple in the future. and 26" is really not a ideal height to grow any plant at all. you'd be real lucky to flower a plant in that height range.

thanks guys, i have re-thought my approach. im going with a 2x2x5' space with 4 ufo's (1 per plant). the ones i have are from sunshine-systems.ca does anyone have any experience growing with their lights? after reading more of this thread i'm a little nervous whether i have bought the right lights as mine are all red/blue led's. Are these lights going to be worth anything when it comes time to flower? I figured with 1 ufo per plant that i shuold be good to go, what do you guys think?

They should still at least do what they have been advertised as long as you have a green thumb, and I have 1 ufo for 2 plants. However I am sure the light output from 1:1 ratio of plants vs lights may be better. Good luck tuss.

I went to checkout that Igrowwithleds site. If you need a laugh, go check it out.

Mr. Brown, I really like your test grow. Very clean, sano. How tall did the plant get? What is your harvest looking like?

I need to check out these buckets your using. What is so special about them?

Dang dude! Did you ever get your replacement? It went pretty well, they shipped my replacement right away and I should have it on Mon or Tues. I can't wait! I just hope my new light doesn't do the same thing lol

mookie outstanding!

Thanks for keeping us updated, and that baby looks beautiful... Was that from seed all on the same unit, or did you have additional lights?
