LED setup on 24sq ft closet grow

First time grower here; I'm looking into LED lights for less of an impact on my electric bill and because I'm worried about overheating my area.

My space is 1.8ft x 3ft x 4.5ft, and I am trying to figure out what wattage or lumen output I need. Is it possible to just have a single LED grow light above the plant, or will I need more around the sides? Also I'm on a budget of $300 so it seems like multiple LED's might be out of my price range. Can anyone reference me to good/somewhat affordable lights for my specific setup? I'm finding a lot of mixed information while researching this topic...

I am assuming the height is 4.5 feet, and the grow space is 1.8 x 3, which makes the area a little under 6 square feet, (24 cubed feet)
4.5 feet does not seem very high, when you consider the distance needed for the LED diodes, plus the height of the pots.
You may be able to pull that off, if you keep your plants short, as for a cheap LED to use in that area...

You can try 1 or 2 of those.
I have read much success on CFL lights in such confined spaces, you might want to look into that, as an option.

Since I was in the same boat a few days ago..

I've found a lot of the pros here prefer Hans and Area 51 panels for smaller ops. A cheaper solution that isn't bleeding edge but has some good reviews and hype are Blackstar panels which are basically Chinese LEDs. If you break down the sum of parts, you can find something similar, usually Chinese made, that are on par with or close to mid grade panels like Blackstar. I just ordered one of these since they were the closest wholesale panels I found that had similar parts to that of other popular models.

According to them, one 300w can handle up to 5sq ft, so you might consider getting two. If you search here for ledgrowlightmanufacturer, you'll find a few successful grows using them.

IMHO that particular model is a poor choice . It is proven that monochrome diodes are unnecessary to grow mj. Now if this ufo was a mix of NW + WW it would be a very good choice

Here's my proof now ~ 4-5 days from harvesting. Clones were veged under 2 ufo90s- 5000K + 3500K. Once buds set, I added 3 x 18w 3000K tube= all white diodes

The dry leaf is left over when I accidentally added to much Sea Crop minerals (very potent)

I'd definitely recommend a Hans for grows where height is limited, but with your budget you can only get one panel - which might be good for 2x2 coverage area.

I just got a Area 51 SGS 160 and they had the $50 discount so $495.00 out the door, no tax or freight. It says ideal for 2x3 area. I have this light in a 2x3x5 tent and based on journals I have seen this light produces. I have only had it a couple weeks and just starting my first grow with LED and so far so good. I know it is a little out of the range but for small areas like ours for a couple plants this light should produce. There are a couple lights like Hans, California light works and Black Dog that may run $100 cheaper not sure how tax and freight works might bring it back up...but if you visit the led section on here you can see some of the grows and what is working for guys. The UFO and some of the china lights you should be read up on and be careful about wasting your money on them.
