LED recommendations?

hey growers,

str8 2 the point on this one. Im interested in LED's lights for veg/flowering. Whats been your expieriences with them? any recommendations on brand, type, full spectrum, etc? I have a small setup so i don't need those <$1000 lights. Something that'll cover a 3'X3' setup would be awesome :). Thx guys/gals.
Apollo 240 full spectrum will work wonders for that amount of space!! Only $170 from amazon.

i have just ordered 3 100w panels using the same 3750k leds the area 51 XGS-190 uses and that cost me $120 but i would recommend something like the 400w mars II for your grow area as that is just over $200 and gives very good performance.

I just ordered a Apollo 400 watt full spectrum it cost $221.75 on ebay and was hoping it will work for my small grow( like three plants)
The size is only like 13" so I am a bit skeptical

Any one use this panel before? any thoughts?

ive ordered 3 of these 20 xte led panels and 5 pcbs for 60x3w leds for $130 hoping to combine 2 of the 60 led panels and the cree led panels in my tent see what my plants turn out like.I ordered from this company which i started talking to when putting out a request for cree led panels on alibaba. They contacted me and i just told them what i wanted and they are now being made and shipped out in the next few days http://www.sunshineopto.com/china-cree_xpe_led_modules_smd_led_pcb_board_for_road_lighting-1981922.html

Look on amazon and ther are supplemental leds of diffrent colors for diffrent cycles!! They are only $30 each and my plants seem to LOVE THE 2 RED ONES I ADDED TO THE APOLLO 240W FULL SPEC LED I ALREADY HAD.

how important are the watts when it comes to the plants? I see a lot of different led's of many different watts. I'm thinking i should pay more attention to the par watts and the spectrum bands of the fixture.

these are the other led pcbs that i ordered, were only $2 each so bought a few that probably going to sell on

Thank you kind sir ! that is good to know I will also look into the reds and get a couple when I get set up and growing.

Thanks again for your input.

Yes the BIGGER the light the more watts its gonna be and you want a light with higher chip# 3, 5chip. If purchasing a UFO styke light and planning on more then 2 plants at a time then youbwould need numerous ufo style leds but in that case just spend the 300+ on a reg led full spectrum light. I really lile the apollo leds. Yes ther are other brands that dsay you can tweek the color spectrum for veg and bloom but I dont believe thats truly needed for the novice grower. You can get the 240w apollo full spec led for 170 on amazon.com.

I see you have it pretty high and seems to be working great .

I was worried I would have to have it just inches above the plants so this means more plants :)
I had it VERY CLOSE when they were seedlings and in veg and just deemed to do a lot better pulljng it back some everytime they grew!!! From what ive read from apollo themselves they say 16 to inches from the tops of your plants!! Yes people say one of the benefits of LEDs is that you can literally put the light on top of your plant but for what and when its pulled back the plants reaching for the best possible spectrum of light being emitted!! Obvi we arent looking tonplace the LED 3, 4 or 5ft away from our plants and are not looking for any extreme stretching. I saw someone post a pic the other day of his week old seedling autos and the stems was 7inches long!!!???? They looked horrible and I didnt even bother to look into his setup, light source etc.. because the kid was ATTEMTPING A MR WIZARD GROW with NO MONEY INVESTED andbusing thjngs that were in the house or things he could pocket from friends and family! Idk what the point of that is besides wasting rime and seeds!?!? Im sorry but were not in thialand, africa or south america and we cant just chuck a pocket full of seed into the hillside here and grow flowers!! It takes time, money, energy, effort amd most of all a lot of LOVE♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ ☺

Plus bro if you have your led right on tip of your pkants then how is it suppose to grow?? I mean plants grow from light and storing that energy and then resting at night and using the light from the daytime at night when ther is no light! Clearly that wasnt said scientificly!! Lol Bur gotta have some space inbetween plants/light source. Ive never had my lights more then 14 to 16inches from any plant at anytime!!

If you look on amazon.com ther are suppliers of led strips. You can buy the strips which would be a supplemental light sourse and they come in specific colors or with a remote for you to change color when need be. But they do have a FULL SPECTRUM LED STRIP which im thinking would be applied to the walls around a grow and would add a signifigant amount of light to anyones grow. I believe its either 10, 13 or 16ft strip. Strip comes with double sided tape for applying or can be cut into strips of 3. The non full spectrum strips of diffrent colors are 30each. So for a closet grow or 8×10 grow room these strips 2 to 3ft around the walls would add a great deal of usable light for plants.
