Led placement

Hello everybody - if I bought a 100W cob and say I was going to run it at full power right- say I have 4 square feet - would I place the cob in the middle of the square so it would overlap each sq. ft? Considering one wants about 25-30 watts per sq foot or would it be better to buy single 30watts and space them to each sq ft?

So what kind of results are you shooting for?
One small plant, large plant or many girls?
If many or even one large girl. Get more lighting !

Point light sources like a cob or HID produce alot of photons but the challenge for indoor grows is distributing those photons over enough area to grow what you want. That's why it's better to either use multiple cobs or diffuse sources like QB's or strips-helps to get an even light spread across the room.

So, the power of the lights you're talking about is their max capability. You want to power them below this rating, which is controlled by the current of the led. More current = more power since the voltage kinda stays the same.

You'd get 3A chips that are rated at 100w and power them to 1200mA instead. Then you get four of them instead and wire them in series between the driver.
