LED Panel Grow - Low Ryder #2

Trying out these LED panels with some Low Ryder #2 seeds. Not sure how it's going to go, but it's fun messing around with it.

The seeds have been going for about a week. Left them outside for a few days until I could be bothered putting them under the light. I only had 1 panel on them until I setup something today.

They're looking a bit stretched, but whatever, maybe the 4 panels on will change that.

I need some ideas on how to mount the panels. They are hung by string at the moment, but it's not very good. I can move them up easily but it all seems a bit messy.

2 days later....

Stretchy...I'm willing to give it a bit more, not sure if they have stretched much in the last 2 days though, the leaves are a bit bigger, maybe a week then I'll buy a 250w hps if they get too stretchy.

I think 1 led panel isn't enough. In a few days I'll be able to see if 4 panels is enough. I did have the seedlings outside for a few days so they may have stretched from that too, they weren't getting much sunlight to begin with.

Day 13...

It's 3 days after the last photo. Should make it about 13 days since I soaked the seeds. Stetching has stopped, but not much is happening with the leaf growth. A bit bigger, but seems slow to me.

sry but there not goin to make it much longer, the leds are shit.the plants look like there about to die, there 15 days old and not even bushy yet, they should be at like the 3 or 4th node by now

I'm skeptical of the LEDs also. Checked them today and they've grown a bit, they don't look that unhealthy out in the sunlight, though they are real slow.

I gave them a water for the first time and watered 2 of them with the stuff that collects at the bottom of my worm farm, along with a few drowned maggots.

I'll post a pic tomorrow to see if anything has changed.

I read about the LED'S a bit before getting some T5's, sort of glad I decided against the LED's. I hope you didn't waste much money, so far I have only grown with a 400W HPS, it did a great job. I how ever being a generous pot head gave away that light years ago.

Keep us updated, if it does fail as you are thinking move on to the other lights, lots are available on Ebay for a great price. Good luck!

Day 15...

Man they are really growing...right...maybe not...ordered a hps last night.

They have grown a little and are nice and green but it's way too slow. I've got them on 24/7 lights, it's a bit cool 17C. Anyway, it must be the lights.

I can't find a full LED grow either. I'd be happy to leave it grow but it's torturous when things happen so slowly.

They are in seed raising potting mixture, so it's probably low nutrient but I don't think it would make so much difference. Maybe I'm wrong. I could try fertilize 1 of them today.

Some helpful advice: If you would have hung 2 panels over the pots and kept them closer to the tops of the sprouts instead of building that house thing you built with the panels you would be much better off than you are right now.

I had 1 panel about 3 inches from the plants before. It covered all of them. The 4 panels seem much brighter on the plants though.

Day 17...

Not much happening at all. Gotta go away for 5-6 days so I just topped up the water and I'll leave them going. HPS will probably be delivered while I'm away, I hope it doesn't rain with the package outside :-(

Day 28...

Didn't check them for 9 days, didn't matter too much, nothing really happened. Don't think much of these LEDs. A month for some little sprouts!

I am switching over to 250W HPS, lets see if they take off.

It's night time, there's light leaking out all over the place from the shed. The LEDs weren't so bright and had a nice purple glow which wasn't very noticeable. Looks like I'll be doing some work to patch things up tomorrow.
