I know the hotspot is in the middle and that is where I have the 4000k. My thought to diminish the hotspot and spread that light a little more is to not put reflectors on the middle ones. What do you guys think?
you could do that,or use the reflectors and add some of those diffusers to them.i would talk to @robincnn about it.he also has some khatod lenses that may help.i been lookin at those khatod a bit lately.

I was thinking about diffusers as well. I know you lose a little but that may actually help in the middle. I wish you didn't lose any in a way as it would be nice to protect those cobs.

Like airwalker said. Growmau did a test and saw that the spread was more even with the RZ diffusers. RZ lens may ahve a small loss but then there is also a gain if you have even spread without hotspots.
Use bare cob in middle or use the reflector with RZ lens for more even spread.
Khatod optics give a nice even spread however they require 6 holes for mounting and you need to use the 4 hole Bender wrth holder.

Here are the completed lights. I love messing with my wife with them. I would have them facing down the hallway and call to my wife, turn them on and blind her. Talk about seeing stars or better yet dots. Wiring the 2nd one went a lot faster as I knew I wasnt going to fuck anything up and I took some scrap angle to mount the dimmer on the 2nd fixture that I got fro radio shack. Each draw 428w and 3.63A. I cant wait to get them hung and fill the scrog.

Very cool spread. I've always liked the 3-2-3.

Got the ladys under the net. This tray is black domina and pot of gold. The other tray is northern lights and fire alien og x strawberry. Got my hands on a gg4 teen and gonna take cuts from that for next run. Also got my hands on some sin city blue lime pie beans and blue power. Gonna pop some blue lime pie first.

I may hit one of the black dominas with sts as she is pure indica and is good medicine so it would be good to have some seeds around for the future.

Awesome stuff thanks for all info you do great work :hump::peace:
Thanks. I have benefitted from the input that others have provided. I am VERY excited to see how these work for me. So far I am very impressed. No ballast noise, far less heat than my hps, less draw, and bright. Also very pleased with the coverage. Only drawback is the initial cost, but knowing they will pay for themselves and have a potential 10year lifespan makes that pill easier to swallow.

I am planning to add some UV and far red to the mix as well.

What a difference 5 days makes. This is why I love hydro (coco chips fed twice a day 45 min ea) My northern lights in the other tray are dragging ass and I may throw them to the wolves. The fire alien og x strawberry is rocking hard though. I think I am going to throw her in this tray with the others and get back to why I went from a 6x3 tray to 2 3x3's. So I can do a better perpetual than I already am. Rotate 3 plants in every 4-5 weeks and take 3 down every 4-5 weeks. So a chop every month instead of 2 months. So I plan to take some cuts of GG4 today and have them ready to throw in 12/12 in about5 weeks. I plan to veg this scrog 1 more week then flip. I started them out dimmed half way to 212 w. I bumped them to 300w the other day since they seemed to like what they were getting.

That pot of gold in the back left had some issues but she has bounced back nicely. The black domina up front as you can see is loving life.

Lovely ladies and awesome design!
I'm looking for input on the spacing between my COBs on my DIY build. Working in a 45"x45" tent space.
