LED growbox anyone??

I am interested in creating a stealth growbox and figured lighting is a good place to start. I have been doing some research and LED's seem to be the light source of the future. They run cool and use considerably less power. This would seem to allow a growbox to be much more compact in design. They also are rated having a very long life span.

My questions are:
1.. How will the plant respond to this type of light? I've heard both sides. Some say LED produces just the right part of the spectrum and thats all the plant needs. Others say only to use LED in conjunction with other types of light. Some say its just not good for growing at all.
2.. Red and blue is all I need?
3.. What level of brightness do they need to produce?
4.. Could LED's be placed all around the plant as opposed to primarily on top like conventional light sources?
5.. How close to the plant should the LED's be kept?

Searching around the web and on ebay I have found a number that claim to work wonders (Links below). What do you guys think? I know that many, if not all of you, have more grow experience than I do. Have any of you actually tried LED?

Affordable LED possibilities.

Though I have tried to keep this post pretty specific, I am starting from scratch here, any and all info would be great.
