Ive seen them. No ones used them. Everyone is waiting for the next grower to take the chance. No one wants to get burned like metal halide double ended. Ya gotta be careful in this industry. Lots of slicksters will put out crap. I would trust someone lile Phillips. They designed double ended hps and ceramic metal halide. And theres a probably a good reason they didnt try and cram a metal halide arc tube in a double ended jacket. Probably an even better one to not mess with a ceramic arc tube and a double ended jacket. Doubles where and are wholly meant and designed for high pressure sodium.I could be all wrong but i dont think so.

You're prolly right,Dynamo just got a DE 630, we'll have to see what his verdict is.

Take it one step further...the future is outdoor and greenhouse. And your corner store.
But outdoor and greenhouse aren't as reliable as you might surmise. Also, you're much more dependent on nature's schedule, which can and does cut into a full production regime, I promise!

The bottom line is this is a myth and LED is busting it by improving productivity power dollar. Over SUNLIGHT.

Well, yes and no. A well-capitalized (expensive) and smartly constructed greenhouse with effective environmental controls can run year-round with supplemental heat and lighting.

Some of them GIANT greenhouse complexes in Arizona and Southern Cali and Central Valley are VERY well ran and extremely efficient. They have to be....profit margins are slim with vegetable and fruit crops. Now...change that all up with legalized recreational marijuana at....what beginning price? Sure it will fall...but initially? At any rate. ...thats HUGE profits. All iam saying is...no matter how efficient under artificial light becomes....it will never be as efficient as under the sun...period. And if thats the case...investing in indoor marijuana operations longterm is a losers proposition. People say lots of crops grown indoors...cmon. No they arent. Only experimental and niche type crops really are. And theres a reason. Talk to anyone thats seriously in agriculture...a farmer or a greenhouse complex manager of some sort. I have...a few times...what they told me is eye opening. And alot of them know more about marijuana as a potential business AND how it really grows than alot of pros on a dope forum could ever know. I thought alot of what we do and did was fairly new and big ag and greenhouse straight people picked up on it. Truth is really the other way around. Alot of them chuckle at what we are doing and especially what we pay for. But believe this...they take the money being made VERY SERIOUSLY.

Turns out the trend is going in the opposite direction as lighting costs fall and land prices rise.

sure but big greenhouse ops that already have the acres covered are in a unique position. Once the DEA reschedules and banks start accepting revenue from dope growers, these guys are gonna be the ones to crush it. Lots of big greenhouse ops are already cashing out to big investors hoping the change will come soon.

sounds like a sales pitch for cannabis stocks.word on the street is that this is not a good time to invest in cannabis stock. too much uncertainty about the new administration
This is very true. Gop Washington and Gop (sort of) White House.....who knows what will happen now. Full out legalization might of hit a road bump or not. I have no clue with these new clowns in control. Good point.

the government is already raiding production facilities . with this new administration and more states legalizing recreational use it is likely to get worse . trump has said that he will enforce federal drug laws

Prices will go up. People will get scared if the crackdowns are on a local level...will shut down. Demand will out pace supply ...etc. etc. etc. 300 to 500 dollar ounces all over again. All at the risk of freedom. If thats the case and how it plays out. I have no clue. It could cause an uproar in the states but all the Orange Clown has to do is let loose the DEA infused with a bunch of cash and make Operation Green Merchant pale in comparison. I doubt it will go that route...but it is a tipping point. Prolly beyond that already. Popular opinion is on legalizations side. Be a bad move for politicians wanting reelection to crackdown. Again...who knows with all the Republicans mulling about in Washington and the Democrat left overs.
Well...this is all way off topic. Iam stoned to the gills. Going to bed. Good posts on lighting. Later yall. May yer buds be green

Jeff Sessions as Attorney General augurs rather poorly for legal weed. @UncleBuck did you quote him directly as saying he was okay with the KKK, at least until he learned they smoked pot?

If I were in the belly of the beast, as it were, The Gub'ment, I'd wait for more money to pour into places like California, Oregon, and Washington, before rolling them up and seizing real assets. A huge plus if Southern states are on the menu. Then they can open the door to Phillip Morris and Bayer, who will waltz in and clean up. But hey I'm just a crazy optimist. Remember these are the assholes who put Tommy Chong in jail for selling bongs.
