lec 315 cost comparison

im in the market for another new lec 315. the cost difference is about $200 at my local shops. I can get a sunburst with Phillips 3100 for $299 or the eye hortilux for $475. my question is what makes the eye hortilux worth the price difference and is it worth it? thanks.

Price difference online & local shop here was $160. IMO the real difference is the bulbs, Philips seem to have the edge at this time.

i use the Sun System LEC 315 Boss fixtures with Phillips bulbs. The ballasts are dimmable which I love. I also like all the safety features. They were a bit pricey, $1100 CAD$ including tax and shipping for 2 units with bulbs I agree with Hugo Phurst about the bulbs. Phillips bulbs have the best spectrum, life, and they run a couple of degrees cooler. I've never used the Hortilux, but looking at the specs, I really feel that it is inferior to the Sun System and definitely not worth the $800(tax in) that they're selling on amazon.ca. I love the Sun System ballasts
