Hello Mr. Acid..

I don't have a straight answer BUT I do have some thoughts

1. are you plants outside? do you have bugs?

2. the plants should be in 3 gallon containers with drainage holes and NOT opaque or clear.

3. The soil should have some PERLITE in it. Perlite helps with drainage and provides pockets of oxygen for your roots.. it is a great additive to any soil mixture..

4. If you do feed you plants, make sure you use a very diluted MIXTURE... like 1/5th or 1/10 the recommended dosage...

cheers

Listen to Garden Knowm, he is one of the few people in here I would take advice from. Plants do not need Nuts in the first week to 2 weeks of life. Some people do add 25% strength nuts though at that time. I also noticed you have no perlite for drainage and air. But i am definiatley not the one to listen to when it comes to soil grows. I can not keep a weed plant alive in soil unless it is one I do not want that is with my tomatoe plants or watermelon plants, then they love me. I only grow Hydro since My first two attempts at soil. I had the same trouble that you are having and I bought like 5 different soils, perlite this that, finally I grabbed my nuts squeazzed real hard and bought a hydro system, I was off and running ever since then. I have since tried soil a few more times, to keep my mother in. Everytime I fail BIG TIME. So I just stick with what works for me.

I really do not understand what I do wrong in soil. I grow Strawberries, watermelons, tomatoes, cantelopes, and roses in soil. But as far as WEED.. PFFFttttttt, I SUCK WITH DIRT....

Good luck with your grow. If at first you do not succeed, try again, if you fail again, think about a nice Flood and Drain System.

I am looking at the pictures again... are you sure there is no way that slugs or snails come to your plants at night... i have never heard of such bugs indoors... but a couple ofthe picks look like some strawberry plants that I have that get nibbled every year by night time slugs...

what kind of soil are you using?

cheers

i am going to move them into a 3 gallon non clear pot tomorrow as from knowms advice as u say he seems to know the best well i have taken a good look at these plants the good plant sometimes seems to have very tiny flies on or near it yet the bad looking plant have nothing could it be no c02???? or no oxyget as i grow in a wardrobe at this age???? but leave the doors open of a day time ???? any advice would be great still thanks again knowm.....
can anyone recomend some good nutes???? preferably a good product that contains most of what i need i dont want to go the whole hog and buy 20 diff products etc..... just after a basic product with the best nutes in it for what i want
thanks again

Hmm I might be wrong, but that looks like nutrient deficiency to me.... as you've said acid, you probably need some good quality seedling soil and add a tiny bit of nutes and see what happens.

Hey fox... is it the top plant that GIVEs you the idea that it might be a nutrient deficiency..? I kinda see that too...

But I cant imagine the soil not being able to provide adequate nutrients for such young plants... every soil I have used has provided adequate nutrients for the first 2-8 weeks.

cheers

Hmm.

What struck me 1st is the color of your stem.
2nd is the all-around browning of the roots/soil.

Let it dry out, pull it up outa it's pot, ditch the nasty soil.

Go out and buy some soil SB300-SB350, that's the product range for most of the good soil, you will find spagum, perl, limestone, and other great soil properties in it allready. After the transplant give em a good watering. If you are stuck using tap water I suggest letting it sit for a few days to dissolve the pollutants. If it does not darken up to a dark green then you will want the light closer. After 4 days of transplant, add nutes my friend.

Hope this helps.

Also, dunno if you did this or not, but try not to use the same soil you grow in before. Alot of times there are nutes left into the soil then you start again and it creats a lockup. You will know when you are getting beaten by it due to browning and blackening of roots. This is caused by "top watering" which is a light watering that reaches 1/2 the soil, gets pushed down every other water, creating stale water with a bunch of nutes that your roots "float" in.

Fixable, but it's a stunt in growth.

Hmm actually the 3rd pic. The slight yellowing of the tip of the first true leaves. That's how my deficiency started. Of course you're right in assuming that almost any soil should give plenty of nutrients to such small sprouts. I began seeing nutrient deficiency well after the 2nd week of vegetation. It might be over watered soil, pH disbalance or something poisoning the sprouts in the soil....any way you slice it, new soil should fix the problems.

I'm growing all my plants in rockwool later switching to a top-drip system, but I planted 1 test plant into MG soil and using MG food....it's doing pretty well so far...that just shows that even the much hated MG soil won't bring about results like these.

I am not Mr Soil guy here. But look at his soil, it looks like a soaking wet sponge. I think the soil is being kept to wet and the plants are dieing for oxygen. When I use soil, I usually as 30-40% perlite or vermiculite. But who am I to say, I can not get a weed plant to grow worth a shit in soil. HYDRO all the way for me...

cool -

you are feeding your plant with MG nutrients in MG soil? Doesn't that soil have shit loads of nutrients in it already? How old were they when you started feeding?

I have noticed that MG soil works great when you flower early... 14-24 days..
It is plants that are vegged longer that usually get pH issues in MG..

cheers and thanks for the info :)

the soil on these are just my regular grass sil as usual first time i have came across this problem
ACID, you know your name might be part of your answer to your prob dude....even though your soil might be kinda nasty, like too acidic or something, pot will grow in just about anything without dyin' as long as the PH is correct.... like, if your using hard tap water, or nasty acidic (non LSD) water, that'll kill em quick cuz of the tons of minerals in hard (high ph) water and the rancid sulfur type quality of very acidic (low ph) water. Try to get a PH tester and test your soil and water so that when you plant again, you'll know what the problem was. I think your ph is supposed to be like 6 or 7, kind of in the slightly acidic range. Cuz if you can grow veggies normally outside, mostly cuz rain usually has a neutral ph depending on where you live, maybe you can use your rain water, if the ph is good, instead of using tap water. Also maybe try using just distilled water so that it might stay within that correct ph range for proper vegging growth rate and the D water might help unlock the nutes if that's the problem too dude....Maybe the Knowm can enunciate better than I on this for ya.... Good luck, happy tokin'/trippin dude.:peace:
