Leaves turning lime/yellow

Hey this is my first time cloning and two plants from the same mother are starting to fade. I tried to add cal mag to the water to see if that helped but no change.

This is a soil grow using ffof and not adding any feed at the moment. The other plants are looking pretty good.

PH 5.9 - 6.0

One clone seems to be fading from the top down while the other one seems to be fading from the bottom up.

Any suggestions would be great, thank you!

Water !!!!!! Probably no need to ph the water. Just increase.
Those babies look they are hanging in for dear life and they just need some moisture. Maybe toodress with earth worm castings to really green up fast. No ph adjust needed for little babies in ocean forest

The PH of my base water is 8.3 is that ok?

Yes but if your really doing it right you would be using a soil ph meter to monitor at the soil level, not the water…….

most soils are pre buffered. Liming agents are used to keep balance. In soil microbes snd the plant itself actually regulate ph. By dumping phosphoric acid on soil the microbial life is destroyed, thus interrupting plant health and food source. Not doing a thing for you.

most people struggle with dirt growing is the fear of overwatering snd the fear of wrong ph water.

IMO: if the water ph is near 8 still ok really. Better than adjusting water. But one might think about a different filter to bring h2o back to more acceptable ranges. Usually we overfilter, stripping all minerals from the water which actually is what’s responsible fordifferent ph ranges.

also ph of soil is highly affected by soil moisture. Underwatering causes more fungal dom soil which raises ph. Well saturated soils with will be lower naturally with bacterial dominated microbes.

this is an acclimation of experience mainly. Snd for anyone curious my ph is general 8.1 h2o. Somehow magically my medium/soil is always 6.5-7. And even more magically is the fact that my vegging plants maintain 6.8-7 and the very week I flip to flower the containers drop to 6.5. Why??? Cause the microbes dictate ph. The plant knows it needs more P snd K and that those elements are available at slightly lower ph. Plant root exudates attract specific bacteria and fungi to accommodate the change in nutrient demand. Fucking magic. End rant

Well water? Or are you filtering?
Well water with no filter.

I guess my PH is way too low then that I have been feeding. I was very concerned with over watering but looks like im probably under doing it. I will give them a good water now and leave the PH at a higher level.

Thanks for the advice all

Good luck. And remember my advice is geared to soil fed grows. If you start feeding bottles nutes the nutrient solution itself should always be check and balanced.

What do you do when they need feed if your not using bottle nutes? From what I read ffof is good until you flip to flower, are you just top dressing? This is my 2nd grow and first time using soil so still in learning phase

There's a bunch of different versions out there, but you might want to take a look at one of the charts showing what nutrients get taken up at what ph levels. 7 is good in soil, 6 in coco. I try and swing my ph levels around to get more uptake, not sure if you can really do that in soil as easily as coco.

You can amend a bagged soil lightly with castings/ perlite and extra amendments to make a simple “super soil” with top dressing lightly throughout grow.
Or you can mix a soil from scratch that can last grow after grow and continues to get better and better with no need for bottled fed. If can steer you in the right direction if that’s something your interested in

After following your suggestions the plant doesn't seem to be getting better. Any other ideas? 2 clones from same mother acting very similar but 5 other clones are fine that came from same strain different mother.

Sometimes the Health of a clone depends on health if their mothers.
I would too dress with earth worm castings. Just a tiny bit.
