Sorry killed the title
Leafs are drying up haha

Hi everyone
Long time troller of this forum :)
I'll give you a quick background. I'm a once a year grower if that and a light rec user. I grow 2-4 plants at a time. I'm the type that will throw some seeds in good dirt and let them do there thing. Small amount of nutes never worry about PH ect..

I normally grow autos because they seem to fit my needs and are prett fool proof. This time around I thought I had two auto seeds left but I was wrong. I have one "normal" plant and an auto in my little grow room. I seem to be having trouble with my normal plant at the moment. She is in her first week of flowering and the big fan leaves seem to be drying up on me and I feel she is a lighter green then she should be. Just looking for some advice. I have her under a 400w hps on a 13/11 cycle ( weird light bc I also have an auto in there, I know it's not ideal but it's what I have to work with). I water with aged tap water with a PH around 7. I'm using FFOF soil.

As you can see from the pics the tips are dry and Chrispy it's only effecting the large fan leaves atm
You can see my auto on the bottom and she is doing awesome with no issues. Just looking for some thoughts

Thanks guys !!

Another thing to add is because I thought they both were autos I have a 24/0 light cycle for veg and then a 20/4 when the auto started to flower about 2 weeks ago. Now I have it 13/11 and the non auto just started flowering

She had about 6 weeks veg and this is her first week of flower. I was thinking I may have flooded her with to much light! I really started to notice the issue since switching the light cycle to 13/11
Room temps get up to 80 ish when the lights are on and down to 60ish when off. I also water every other day. She takes about a gallon
Thanks again :)

Hmmm
Root rot may be it. I thought I was under watering so that could explain it. I know they show similar symptoms. I'll let her dry out an extra day and see if that helps at all

Just remember, pouring LOTS of water through at one time is flushing, and won't hurt your plant.

Watering often without dry periods in between is overwatering

You're in good soil, I'd expect waterings to be every 4-5 days, depending on your environment.

Best test is the lift test. The finger test is worse than useless.

Thanks man! Yea usually after 2 days the top is dry about 2 inches Down or the leanth of my finger. I water using a water bottle with holes in the lid in an attempt to allow the soil to fully absorbed the water instead of just pouring it in all at once and it running off. I do lift to test but maybe what I feel is light is not light

I have them in 5 gallon buckets which I know is big but it's what I had :)
The humidity is low as well. I'm living in a dry environment and have very dry heat.

Thanks for the help man !

So we know any methods to reverse root rot? I'm reading that to remove the plants cut off the dead roots, wash them, throw out the dirt, ect. :o. That seems a bit extreme. Can I just let he dry out good and take it from there ?

You could try a Hygrozyme or Roots Excelurator. Aside from that, yeah, surgery.

I think some may uses H2O2, hydrogen peroxide. I have no experience with root rot myself, or the peroxide. I'd stay away, at least in soil, until someone more experienced chimes in.

I hear the Roots Excelurator is fantastic for this.

Tim man I think you nailed it right on the head. Deff think its root rot. Looking at pics online and reading it matches it perfect. I plan on doing some transplant and surgery tomorrow. Going to get fresh soil and clean her up good. I'm hoping with just starting to flower I won't cause her to much stress. I'm hoping someone with experience woth RR wil chime in

My biggest question is it to late for her ? Is a transplant worth it? She is still growing but new growth is very limited :/

Thanks again man, I was thinking everything but root rot. Well done

Yea ... Lesson learned it was tough had all the signs I thought it was it for sure. When I pulled her I was like ther look pretty healthy. Maybe even root bound. I'm hoping that just a fresh round of dirt and help her restart. I replaced the dirt with FFOF. Worst case I'll try and grab some clones off of her. :(

Hey guys !!
So did the transplant a few weeks back
She pulled through and recovered nicely she is in her 3rd week of flower with strong bud sites in her. But.... I am still getting a leaf or two that's doing the same thing. Idk if it's just random.
It starts at the tip of the leaf then works its way back. Yellowing then brown spotting then complete death of the leaf. Still doing all the same as my first post. Just looking for some insight

Thanks :)
