my girls a seedling and so far i have 5 27w 6000k cfls on her i had 24hr lights on her but than her leafs started folding more and more upward and i was thinking since the plant is getting too much light its folding to reduce surface area of leafs. so starting today im putting it on 20/4 light schedule.is this the right thing to do since its only a seedling?will it flower prematurely?

Are the tips yellowing at all? Usually the tell-tale sign of Mg deficiency is that the veins of the leaves remain green, and the surrounding area of the leaf yellows. Also, tips have been known to stiffen, and crisp up. What medium are you growing in?

if your growing in soil you'll want to use dolomite lime as a long term solution to the problem as Epsom salt will react with your grow nutrients and lockthem out. The sulphate part the chemical will acidify your soil. Leaf feeding it is the best quick fix using it.

IF tips curling and folding and a seedling we need pics to diagnose better ... if it's only doing that is aint a deficiency more stress through EC or Temp.

Stop giving +rep out to users untill you know what they tell you to be FACT, or we end up with N00Bs with a massive rep from giving out false info and others see this rep and believe them to be knowledgable (when they ain't) and then N00Bs make even more mistakes.

TIP: 24 hrs produces NO benefit to plant over 18-20...... most study case show over 18 is a waste of energy.

I agree fully with this user.

Usually leaf tips curling up will happen due to a few things.

pH imbalance
Heat Stress
Nute burn.
deficiency

In a seedling a deficiency is usually the last thing on your list as it can take a good few weeks to develop any deficiencies.

I fully agree that a picture would help clarify things for you.

Hey Mr 87 posts to his name will it make you feel better if I told you you have to have over 50 posts before your reppoints even count ? :dunce:
Magnesium dificiency is #1 cause of upward leaf curl. :finger:

On a seedling ???? That would make it a genetic fault.. therefore uncorrectable, unless this seedling is more than a seedling.
And as for reppoints I have no idea what your on about, but with your mention of posts and looking at your number.... your sure have a lot to say...
