leaf problems, ive done my home work but to no avail +rep to anyone who can help

first off ill start by appologising about not being able to put up pictures. ill try and make up for it by giving a vivid discription of my plants leaf problem.

so ive lost a few leafs to this already; the leafs are yellowing and curling upwards as they die. there are a few small splotches on the leafs that are effected. new growth is slow, im afraid ill lose this one

it first i thoucht it was a textbook N deficency; but ive never seen these splotches on a ND. i know i need nutrients, in a bad way, but i dont know what to get. i wanted to try and stay organic but i dont think thats happening

if anyone has any ideas please post them up

i am having the same issue, i did research. I think mine is doing it because of heat and OVER fertilization/watering. I have no real clue but I am gonna take it easy on my next watering and see what the new growth looks like. My heat keeps getting to the 90 range and im also thinking this has somethign to do with it. Alot of people say the ph is too low or high when this happens, my ph is 6.2 in organic thats okay far as I know.

i grow with 1 CFL right now, im sure heat is not the issue

i have no way of testing PH, but i let my tap water distill, use distilled water or bottled water

No nutes + plain water --> pH 7+ --> altered soil pH

that's the most probable cause in my opinion.. unless you have some time release ferts or something

It sounds like a Mg def. Spots are usually a lack of Mg., also when leaves curl up it is said they are "praying for mag". Most often the deficiency is caused by not a lack of Mg in you fertilizer, but too low of a PH locking out the Mg. I would check you PH.

Have you consider maybe a cal or mag def?... I had a problem with that and it kinda sounds like what you are describing. I just went and got some epsom salt and added 2 tsp to a gallon of water, AFTER I had flushed the plant, I watered with this and it really helped out!

Do your leaves look anything like this?..... If not then I'm at a loss for words..... lol

ok well i have i 20w cfl real close to one small plant, reflection with a mylar sub

plant gets a small dose sterille animal urine for N every fed waterings. picked it up cheap, but it disgusts me that i have a container of animal piss in my room. the effected leafs, as i said, are yellowing from the bottom, curling up and have small splotches on them

its about 3 weeks and been going slow since the coytdeons fell off. i know thats a sign of needing small doses of nutrients, but i wanted to be organic, but dont have the money im my pocket

my plant is going outside after the threat of frost and when theres longer day time hours. my original plan was this: 5-7g pot with drainage holes, banana peel at the bottom, then filled with soil compost and vermiculite and maybe some moss

this is where it gets interesting; im going to build a platform up in a tree, drill the bucket into the platform so the wind dosnt take it down and trim some branches so my plant gets better light. i dont want to be climbing a tree every few days it dosnt rain, so im thinking about inventing something that works like an aquaglobe but bigger and can catch rain water

they do look like that, but my leafs are smaller and the curling is almost uniform

epsom salt huh? how much that go for you think?

less than a buck at any grocery store, very common item

I think I spent about 3 bucks on a large enough thing of epsom salt to last me years and years of growing.....

erm.. you better dilute that animal piss coz that's definitely N overdose if you put it straight into your pot

its diluted about 1/3 piss 2/3 water

i think it may be lowering (piss is acidic right?) PH greatly and not allowing fom cal or mag uptake

I am not sure that is the right answer

I know your pockets are low mine too ATM I'm actually pawning things right now to get the things I need for healthy growing. You have to find a way to come up with about 25-30 dollars initially....

- now buy one of those small PH testing kits (comes with liquid for testing + a small lidded vial) mine is made by General Hydroponics. They cost 5-10 dollars, varying.

- find out exactly what your ph going in is. Than over water with say 6.5 and test the runoff that flows from the bottom (stack ur plant overhanging on a stack of books, etc. water and collect runoff)

- go and buy some PH UP and PH DOWN (get both for around 20 dollars)

- if your PH runoff is say 4 ish, flush heavily with a 7.0 PH water and balance ur overall. Or if it's say 8.5 or higher PH flush with 6.0 PH water until your good.

Now for the curling and defiencies hypothesis... you need to look up a chart of info (readily avail.) for specific nutrient issues, and narrow it down. Treat accordingly with additives and try to use food if you can, with doses of N-P-K of what you need and micro-elements pertaining to your exact issue. You may also want to make sure no "funny"( water with nutes and off PH) is splashing on your leaves. I think you have a great chance of easily solving this problem using the methods I spoke of as I'm pretty sure you know what your doing in other aspects, happy growing, good health and good luck

I forgot to add... when I've splashed my leaves with nute water or funny PH water they have yellowed from the lighting, they turn kinda dry, yellowish with brown spotting and curl up, I am almost positive that's what cause my problem, yours could be different.

mine is different; i learned on my first grow not to leave moisture on the leafs because of hat spots. then again i was 15 and growing with incandescent. now i just water the base as needed.

i invented(if you could call it that) a perfect watering device. all i did was poke 3 holes in a bottle cap an put it back on the bottle. simple but effective

if i cant come up with simple solutions soon i dont think this plant is going to survive. i already sold lots of stuff a long time ago, i have plans for a date with a girl whos more important than a plant and i burned all my bridges with people who would lend me money

hahaha I use the same poked cap on a gallon milk jug for watering. well I see your situation and good luck I hope it lives anyway.
