Leaf cutting?

I have noticed on several different sites that people cut the upper halfs of leaves off on clones to help with growth. I was just wondering if you could apply the same process to growing plants to help with growth?

In my opinion, it's cool to trim off completely the bottom 1/3 of the plant. This usually leaves you with a few large nugs per plant vs. many small ones. Unless necessary, I NEVER cut a leave off. They are the solar panels for your plant! Hope this helps.

The reason this is done by many growets to their clones is to help them maintain their moisture. The plant transpires through the leaf, cutting the tip (top 1/3) off reduces the leaves surface area.. reducing moisture lost till the cutting has rooted and can gain some of what it needs that way.
It isn't used to promote growth, it's simply to give the clone a helping hand, helps you spray less too :)
