Wondering how many of you have a lawyer on retainer to protect you from any legal issues related to your use or cultivation of our medicine.

Was in TO again this weekend and talked to a a patient that has one on retainer... Wondering if this is commonplace? It's definitely not a bad idea in my mind. The laws are so fucked right now that I can't see any harm in it.

How about you? Anyone in Ontario that you'd recommend?

Thanks

really why would I require a lawer if I am in a legal position ?
yes the authorities can make a hassle for you but in reality I am covered by the law in the end.
unless you stray from your PUPL or ATP under the injunction rules you should have no issue.

I agree if your a med user, now if your selling it(your script) for cash well best take some cash and get a lawyer.

Wow you are probably the single most negative user I've seen here. What in the fuck have I ever done to you?

Anyways back to the topic.

The current system is fucked, I don't want my wife to be victimized anymore by it.

My wife falls under the mmpr.

I understand that for many (most?) the costs under the new system are prohibitive. I'm fortunate enough that the cost of my wife's script isn't an issue for me. Lack of access and quality meds is an issue.

My concerns mainly revolve around the possession and use of concentrates. Flower cannabis isn't nearly as effective as the concentrates She's been taking. Technically these are illegal and that concerns me.

weather legal or not .....lawyer or no lawyer, probably only going to make a few hours difference. But if your worried about it.... look around and get an ad-hoc lawyer..... if your worried about such things. But I'm sure you will have nothing but time on your hands to find one... if they actually charge ya, (no pun intended)

Thanks for the info guys, I've not been part of this world for long and I don't have a handle on what the cops would actually do.

I wasn't being mean to you guys, most patients cant afford meds let alone a lawyer, for when they are legal. your just not in this world, do not take so much to heart from this site, it sucks and a lot of slandering here

Kirk tousaw is the guy to ask this question.
Since your wife is not in bc, using , possessing concentrates would fall outside of the law, so I imagine you would
Be in a debate with the cops , crown prosecutor and arguing that the appeal court of bc ruling allowing concentrates for medically approved patients
Should apply to you. Ultimately if you went to trial a judge may rule in your favor. Until the appeal of this decision to the supreme court of Canada
Is heard you are not guaranteed to be covered by the bc court decision.
Best of luck, the weather in bc is nice by the way...

I've had consults with a few good lawyers in Toronto for different aspects of mmj..
For anything on the criminal side I would recommend Mr. Paul Burstein. He's not cheap, but is very effective.

Thanks everyone!

I know I sound really paranoid... I've lived my whole life within the boundaries of the law and find myself in a very awkward place with cannabis. I'm really trying to keep everything on the up-and-up but there isn't a damn thing that will stop me from getting it for my wife now that I've seen it's benefits.

At the same time I don't know what the possible legal recourse would be if she got charged with possession of concentrates or even worse her/I were the get charged with manufacturing concentrates.

That being said, seems like everybody and their cousin has bho nowadays... Atleast from what you see being used at the vapor lounges.

If she hasn't used them yet return them. They are absolute garbage. Have to replace the heating element every few days, oil leaks everywhere. Spend a bit more upfront and get a DaVinci ascent. No replacing of parts and it works like a dream :-)

Already have a solo. Looking for a small pen style vape.

Nice! Let me know how it turns out. I almost purchased one but concentrates are hard for me to come by unfortunately. Their pricing seems really reasonable, especially replacement/spare parts
