Latest UK cannabis news

We have been having a bit of a time of it lately in the UK with a government who do not know what they are doing.

The herb was recently reclassified to a grade B drug, a reversal on the change a few years previously from a B to a C class. (Class A is the hard stuff like crack so sequential letters are supposed to be less harmful)

A respected man of science, Professor David Nutt, is on the advisory council for the government on the misuse of drugs is slamming the governments decision to reclassify the drug and also points out the scaremongering tactics used, ie: about the so called harmful effects of weed, are blown out of proportion by the government, cigarettes and alcohol are considered more dangerous than a lot of class a drugs, let alone the weed, by the drugs advisory council.

Here's an article from the BBC about it, enjoy. :bigjoint:

As far as I am concearned its legal, I'm in London.
It would be nice if it was, but its not actually legal. The old bill don't bother people about it much, but by the law it is still illegal and the way the government act i am thinking they are planning on getting harsher yet.

An update for the original news I posted is Professor David Nutt has now been sacked for his words. Just because he doesn't say what the government wants I guess.

I think someone else has posted this info but I will also as its relevent to this thread.

some are saying they may quit, he said it has caused concern in the scientific community and said we should remember how the government ignored scientists and lied about b s e in our beef

Well at least the papers seem to be on his side. Not that they agree with him, its just they point out why does the government ask science for answers and advice but then sack them when the scientists say something the government don't like hearing, just cos you don't like it don't mean it's not true.
