late trimming

Just wanting some opinions,
If a plant is in week 6 of flower and one were to trim the bottom branches which aren't getting much light, to make some hash for a sneaky smoke or 2.
Would this stress the plant alot do you think?
I'm only talking the bottom 10-15% and the flowers have stopped gaining size and are just starting to bulk up, hardly any pistils browning or receding so still at least 2 weeks to go but the heads on the trichomes are nice and fat and already getting cloudy.
Is it worth trimming or could it possibly effect yield in a big way?

I would assume that it wouldn't have any more of a negative effect than the deer breaking all the lower branches off my plants, only thing is those buds wont grow anymore the plants should put their energy into the other buds - But mine always got broken and left out for a day or 2 so the plant could heal itself a little - I wouldn't think breaking/cutting them off would do anything differently than what my plants did, I did not notice any negative effects

at that point i would trim the upper leaves that are blocking the light.
It's not so much fattening up the lower buds I'm thinking of, it's more the need for some smoke and aren't keen on quick drying some buds lol.
They are quite big plants so I'm not too worried about the popcorn buds and they usually go into the hash bag anyhow.

Buds don't need direct sun, the leaves convert the sun to energy so I'd leave the fan leaves.

You can trim the lower crap, but you would have been better served doing it much earlier in flowering. It's called lollipopping and directs the plants resources toward the top buds. Wouldn't hurt to try, the amount you are thinking of removing shouldn't be enough to shock the plant. Plus you won't have to deal with trimming popcorn or undeveloped buds come harvest

That is kind of my thoughts also, I wouldn't think the plant would put energy into producing new growth elsewhere which is my worry, rather it would just heal and continue maturing the remaining flowers.

I don't usually trim the lower stuff or you're right I should have done it earlier.
Cool I was thinking the same about the shock
