Last grow before upgrades!

Flowering Day 53

Good Morning RIU!

Here's a little update on this grow. So far everything has been moving along fairly smoothly, just have been a bit too busy with family get togethers and what not to take some photos and get an update posted! So here's just a general idea of what's going on before I get to the pics. The Acapulco Gold is the only plant giving me some issues. She is yellowing all over the bottom. Looks like Nitrogen deficiency to me. I had this problem with the last run I did with her sisters too. She is the only one I'm using ferts for so I've mixed the last few batches of feed with some Grow Big along with the Tiger Bloom. It may have helped a little bit, but considering We're getting near the end of this grow I'm not overly concerned with it. Her buds are still fattening up and she is looking good otherwise, and that's all that matters. The Sour Diesel and the R5b are looking fantastic. There is such a clear difference between the organic soil they are planted in and given just water and the Acapulco Gold with the nutes. I know a better presentation of this would be to actually take a few clones of one single plant, and show the differences in harvest size, potency, and taste in the end. I have been talking with a friend of mine about doing exactly that type of experiment next grow season with several different methods, but that's for a different thread! Regardless, I am definitely an organic grower from here on out.

On another note, The R5a which I determined to be male several weeks ago has been flowering separately in an old reptile enclosure I have upstairs and a few days ago I gathered some pollen from him and fertilized a single branch on each of these plants. Also, both of my R5b clones are now rooted. One is just starting to show a few twisted leaves of re-veg growth so I'm very happy to know that I'll be able to keep these genetics alive because I love the look and smell of this plant!

So I'm not sure how long we've got with this grow yet. I've just gotten to the point that I'm starting to see a few brown pistils popping up here and there. I broke out the microscope last night and all the trichomes are still very clear and small. The Acapulco Gold and Sour Diesel are both advertised as 10 week plants, but in my experience with them both I had to take them each to 12 weeks (or longer for a few of the previous plants) so I'm thinking at least 4 more weeks of flower yet! One major thing that's happened since last update, and really it's just come about in the last few days, the buds are fattening up like crazy. I swear the Sour Diesel has actually doubled in size since last update. But I'll let you guys be the judge of that, here are some pics!

Sorry the pics aren't quite up to par, I was half asleep last night and just wanted to get some quick shots in before I hit the sack!

On another note, I ordered some seeds for my next grow a couple weeks ago and they arrived yesterday!

I'm going to probably pop one of each in the next week or two and get another journal going for them. So stay tuned!

Flower Day 60

Hello!

Brief update on the ladies. They're all fattening up and getting close to the end! I've been keeping a close eye on the trichomes as of late, and they are definitely getting ready! The Acapulco Gold is the farthest along, with almost a 50/50 mix of clear/cloudy trichs and the occasional amber here and there. I began flushing her last week so she's showing quite a bit more yellow. The Sour Diesel is just about as far along as the Acapulco Gold. They both may well be coming down sometime this week, probably two weeks tops. The R5b may be a bit longer, she's still showing signs of fattening up and mostly clear trichs. I'm thinking maybe 3 more for her. Whenever they come down, I'll be sure to post an update and some pics! My only concern with letting the R5b go too much longer is that I've spotted a couple of male bananas popping up. I really don't want any seeds other than where I pollinated so I may end up chopping her sooner than later.

Now for the girls...
