well then you are just completely ignorant for even making that comment. soil isnt just set and forget especially if growing indoors. if that was the case everyone would do it. i didnt have problems because of soil. i had problems because of poor drainage due to pots. this caused root rot. just because i had one bad experience with my soil doesnt mean i cant continue doing soil again. i just chose to go to dwc because i would rather not deal with issues that come along with indoor growing with soil. its personal preference, not being incapable of doing it
 
I run super soil now so yes it is set it and forget it for me. straight water start to finish no phing no nutes.
 
I think the point was that DWC is more difficult and less forgiving to minor errors. Soil buffers alot and if yoy have a good mix with proper drainage it is the easiest medium to use, which is why I stick with it. If you have lots of perlite and holes in right sized pots, it is relatively care free.

Haha! What? DWC is the ideal rescue method for soil plants gone wrong! When you run into a rhizosphere problem in soil simply rinse your roots, remove any dead roots and pop that baby in your DWC! Anytime a plants goes south DWC is my first line of defense.
 
For me soil was a pain because I had to water them every 3 days, and I also had to rotate the nutrients on all these waterings. But growing with dwc, I change the water every 1-2 weeks and the nutrients stay the same. dwc has been was easier, cheaper, they grow faster, and there's no overwatering. When I hear of people growing indoors in soil, I don't even understand it, unless they just started growing.
 
I tried soil and it didn't go well for me. I've since switched to a water farm and am building a NFT, and all is well :) Different strokes for different folks.
 
dont give up on soil love u just need to get thew right things right soil right pots and right lights ive bin watching ur threads over the last week and i think uve bin doing what everyone tells you to do day after day u just have to be patient.....if u dont have that just give up growing all together. i dont even know what dwc is but im a fairly new to the game and the first thing i learned in my first grow is that you cant do all these different things to ur plants and expect the problem to be fixed first diagnose then try one thing at a time it may take a couple of weeks to fix the planrt but patients is the key. no matter what ur using ur gonna have problems the first few times y switch and have to learn everything all over again when uve experienced what happens in soil and u know what not to do now ur gonna go with dwc wa happens when u run into problems with that u gonna revert bck to soil. stick with one thing and learn as much as possible the more u learn on that specific soil the less problems ur gonna have with that soil. so just think about and be smart
 
Thanks guys for the support. So far the plants are still hanging on. Not any better but not any worse. Hopefully time will tell. I'm not going to give up on soil. For me personally since this is my first grow in to anxious about the plant being ok that I create my own problems when using soil. DWC to me just seems to be the better choice right now. Once I can get my techniques down then I can try experimenting again with soil. It may be the easiest medium to use but for myself, its not.
