Large scale grow setup help!

I got a building I’m going to be setting up to grow in. My goal is around 25-50lbs I don’t have exact measurements at the moment but will soon. My question is would it be easier to achieve these goals with minimum expenses to start with using soil or hydroponics? Would it be a better option to run a 50plant grown with smaller plants or scrog 25 in 7gal pots in soil with a water only soil and add flower food? I’ve never grown hydro but could diy some stuff up I’m pretty handy. In the process of sealing the room and figuring out ventilation and environment control! I’ll build my own hlg fixtures for light. I like soils but the watering would be a pain with so many plants unless anyone has good luck with auto watering systems. What style grows do y’all achieve these results with and with minimal maintenance?

Not to be harsh but have you run businesses before? It sounds like you are in the “commitment phase” when you should maybe consider going into a “business plan phase” because from what I can see from your post is a considerable investment potential in a very tough profitability market. Without ano budget outside of “doing the lower cost option” makes me think you have so much cash on hand it may not matter but I mean this sounds really involved to me. I applaud your willingness to jump in but I would highly suggest you get some real costs on the setup and operational cash burn and factor in environmental factors like lost crop for a cycle every so often. How big is this bldg? The economics published on this forum are not what they used to be so that would give me pause at least to get my lawyer, tax guy, and bank on the same page with a biz plan. sorry I can’t help with the design of the grow space (tons of people here can tho) but I do know that automation of a water process is no drama for something as simple as a grow room, it’s more a cost analysis that feeds the biz plan that is needed. I know of a place here in Richmond, CA where you can rent a whole industrial greenhouse (they look like a football field) or just rent a partial that is pre-wired and pre-plumbed for auto-watering cannabis with automatic nutrients- so it can be done.

Watering 25 or 50 flowering plants without any sort of automation would be crazy. You won't save any cost there because you'll need a ton of man-hours just to keep up with that.

Automation of some kind will be a must whether you go soil or hydro.

I'd be leaning toward DTW flood tables.

I’m on a native reservation over populated with weed for bc grows and Ik the markets here but this is the planning phase lmao! I just asked my buddy if we could grow 20-50 plants in his insulated garage. It’s all still a dream was just looking for ideas on styles of growing in this quantity. And it’s not always about money but I do like garlic!!! I just want my area to change its view points on over produced unknown flowers!!! So fewer bigger plants is the way to go! I was thinking of flood tables but need to do more research! Thanks for the luck guysss! All I got at the moment is the room and electricity anyways along ways to go for sure!

Absolutely that would be insane was looking into different hydro styles but I also like soil with a reservoir! There’s so many ways to grow just looking for styles others have success with!

In a garage I’d start by insulating with 4x8x2+ foil faced foam. HVAC properly. Add breakers and run wire.
thanks I have breaks and wire ran. gotta seal her up and figure out my hvac still prolly go with an 8in in-line hooked up to temp controls with an AC an heater an dehumidifier!

You may want to look into air handlers with reheat. I would go coco with automatic watering. You can build your own system.

Trash this thread not gonna put money into someone else building. Should have thought of that but if I go this route definitely will need the building in my name!
