Large runs with grape alcohol?

I have a buddy with about 8 lbs of trim. I happen to have 10 gallons of pure grape alcohol laying around (don't ask).. I am a BHO guy I've been doing it for years. But on this amount of trim I am thinking of using Alcohol because of Colorado's laws (don't comment, please I already know)

But anyways so can I make good quality shatter with it? I know the basics, don't grind, freeze everthing.. Blah blah blah save your time.

But any good methods for such large runs? My main concern is getting it thin enough on some kind of surface.

Ive made good iso in the past, but never shatter quality.

So any ideas?

Can I just get a screen that will fit over 5 gallon buckets, fill buckets with the trim and proceed like it was mason jars? Or would it take to long to drain leaving green dabs?

It doesn't have to be shatter, but has to be on par with bho.

Good luck, sorry I can't help I have no idea about alcohol extraction, if you do it are you gonna update with pics?

Here is how we do it with 190 proof:

This was a 2 ounce trim and larf test run. I pulled 6 grams but I think my griddle may have got a little to hot.. Taste good, but nowhere BHO.. I don't know I over heated it or if ISO just taste like shit.. But they have a real smooth floral taste.. But the aftertaste is kinda funky..

Very stable tho, not shatter but like a hard honey..

It looks black because my camera sucks..

Bro youve got waaaaaaay too much soil on those plants man, thats why they look stressed, Id transplant them to a smaller pot after giving the root ball a bit of a trim and a light bleach solution spray.

I'm curious why it is recommended to dry the material between runs. I've seen this in other teks as well but never understood it. Any reason you can't just start your second run after pouring off the first?
If you can keep everything subzero throughout the operation, you can continue to run without drying, but unless you are conducting it inside a subzero walk in freezer, or have made other arrangements to accomplish the same end, that is difficult to do in most climate zones.

Even staying subzero, the quality will degrade as you start to over wash some material, to glean the last morsel from the rest, but the morsels will still be there, so it is still good to split the extraction to more than one wash. Those over washed last morsels will also contain more polar elements, such as anthrocyanin plant pigments, and chlorophyll.

Well I did a batch yesterday. Worked only in the freezer. And now I am dewaxing for 3 days.

Im using a 25 micron bubblebag to get it to drain instantly..

My garden is just fine bro.. To much lol? They just got transplanted. And we are taking cuttings and training heavily.

Remember I just moved to Colorado a month ago.. That's a really good start. 20160301_000604.jpg

dry ice bubble hash broooooo
Yuck, I cringe every time I read dry ice. That shit is no melt, like 70% contaminant. Dry ice produces the worst quality.

If you didnt have 8lbs of trim to run I'd say just go with straight water and ice extraction bubble hash. Depending on your strain, and the quality of resin grown, it is absolutely dabable. And even if it's not quite full melt quality, you can always stick it in a tea bag and rosin out some insta shatter.
