Large MMJ grow operation using various strains

Hey guys just a quick update concerning the state of our grow. This last week has been very busy, we received our can fan and can filter, got in our new 60 site EZ clone, received a portable R/O system, worked out how we are going to run our ventilation, and installed some new equipment.

The other day after we received our R/O unit and did some tests and we were real pleased. First it's a 100 GPD unit that fits on your counter and connects to your faucet via a screw on adapter. It takes less than a minute to set up and start the water flowing and at our location with slightly low water pressure we are making 5 gallons per hour. The ph is still a little high but a little bit of real lemon juice fixes that and the ppm run around 25. All this for only 180.00 from Amazon, not a bad deal esp when bottled water here runs around 30 cents per gallon.

Tonight I finished installing our new 6" can fan and filter and does that thing ever clear some air! In our closet you can feel constant air circulation throughout with only that fan running. :hump: I love it!

We assembled the EZ cloner and will be using it Monday when we take clones from our 3 mothers. Tomorrow we start the flower cycle on our first tray and will be setting trays 2 and 3 on the 24th with our clones.

We also germinated 2 more seeds, Kandy Kush and Blueberry Gum and we will be taking clones from the KK to make a mother of that strain to go with our G13 and OG Kush.

That's all for now, tomorrow I should be posting pics after our reservoir change, till then peace out :weed:

Where is the "Large MMJ grow operation?"

Looks good bro, but I came in thinking I was going to see 20k+ watts.

Hello, first if you have questions or comments on this thread please follow the guidelines up here and use my discussion area which is linked in my signature, thanks for the consideration concerning that :blsmoke:

Second reading comprehension fail, as mentioned in the first post of this thread we are starting small and expanding to approx 80 plants mixed hydro and soil along with a clone operation for extra money. In about 3 months we will be moving to a new house closer to the beach, as soon as we sell some of our product. This will be our home then for at least 1 or 2 years depending on neighbors and the such.

3rd our operation will only need 2k of lights with light movers for our flowering area, any more than that is a waste for this size. Concerning the size since we are doing this the legal way in Ca we will never have over 99 root structures, any more than that is automatic federal court, no MMJ defense.

The last couple of days involved switching reservoirs and starting the transition nutes to flower, which will take 2 weeks. With the new can fan running the closet is actually getting too cool at night so we ordered a thermostatic fan controller to fix that situation. Tomorrow we will be setting the 1000 watt mag ballast light above this tray and taking approx 40 clones.

So without further ado here are the pics, enjoy :weed:

Sorry for the long wait but we have been busy with several issues with the grow. We did the cloning last weekend and so far no roots have appeared but they look happy and healthy. Water temp has been an issue so we set a timer for 15 on 15 off and that helped but we are still needing to use ice packs from time to time.

We have also been moving equipment around and getting ready to set our next 2 trays on Saturday so we have been getting our stuff set up for that. Also we are starting Co2 tomorrow on the first tray so we have been getting that ready.

Later tonight I should be able to snap some shots and post them, till then peace out :weed:

Hello, sorry for the delay on updates but the flu took its toll in our house, spent most of the last week in bed :wall:

We picked up our last 2 trays tonight and will be setting them tomorrow with our clones. Additionally we will be setting 2 water packs with G13's in them, one of them being the top. Since taking clones we haven't been doing much, waiting on roots to form and did they ever! Here's pics of the clones in our 60 site EZ Cloner.

Clones 15 G13 13 days.jpgClones 15 G13 13 days roots.jpgClones 13 OG Kush 13 days.jpgClones 13 OG Kush 13 days roots.jpgClones 12 WR 13 days.jpgClones 12 WR 13 days roots.jpg

So far we have only lost 2 out of 42 taken, with the OG being the hardest to clone, as evidenced by the much slower root growth when compared to the others. During the cloning we killed off the G13 and after letting the others rest for a few days we put the OG Kush and White Rhino that are in soil into flower.

Here are a couple of pics of the OG and WR just before going into flower. Since then I flushed them with FoxFarm Sledgehammer and tomorrow they should be getting their first feeding using FF Flower nutes.

OG Kush 48 days.jpgWhite Rhino 48 days.jpg

Unfortunately we don't have any pics at this time of the ones in flower, the CCD on my camera in my phone hates our 1k watt mag ballast but I will be borrowing a real camera soon to get those shots.

The ones in flower are getting big though, one of the Northern lights is 41" tall and another is 35", and we super cropped the 41" one. Tons of bud sites are showing real well now so I will try to get pics of them asap. We figure on the first week of Feb for this harvest so not much longer.

Till later peace out :weed:

G13-C-1,2.jpgOG-C-1 thru 5, WR-C-1.jpgWR-C-2,5.jpgG13-C-3,12.jpg

Here are the latest pics of the new set taken a few days ago. We have 2 G13 in WaterFarms to see what type of yield we will get using that system versus the 8 we will have in a tray. We decided to use 10 G13, 5 OG, and 5 White Rhino for the last 2 trays. We will be pulling 2 G13 and 1 ea of the others within the next few days to bring us down to 18 total for this next harvest.

On other news we have found our new location and hope to be getting started there by March 15th with our next stage which will be perpetual hydro with some soil mixed in.

Till later peace out :weed:

Hello all, today we have full pics including the ones in flower. You will notice lady bugs in some of the pics, we set them out about 2 or 3 weeks ago for bug control. We did our last reservoir change today for the 1st tray, next time we will flush then straight water until finish.

The White Rhino in soil has stopped growing now but the OG is still chugging away  She grew another 4 inches this last week and is currently 39" tall. The 2 G13 in waterfarms are doing great showing rapid growth, much faster than the ones in the trays are.

Its been awhile since I posted any pics so I thought now was the time since this week we will start cutting. I have been checking trichome formation with my LCD microscope and so far all looks good, Friday the first few in the back right should be finished and ready to cut with the others following very shortly behind. I will be taking pics and weights and will post that information daily as it happens.

On other news after doing more research into creating indoor micro-climates for growing I stumbled across some articles about BC Hardcore, a very knowledgeable individual in this area. Since I intend to use his methodology with my next grow after we move I will keep this journal updated with any new information. At its basic level you seal the room then via climate control you create the perfect micro climate for marijuana which is 78 degrees, RH of 40 to 50%, and CO2 ppm of 1500 - 2000 with the ability to raise this to 10k for pest control as needed.

I am also looking into buying the test kits for THC and other canniboids percentages so that I can start testing my plants without sending samples out to a lab, which is much more expensive and not that much more accurate. Lots of progress has been made on that front in the last few years and as long as you know a little chemistry its very affordable to do the home testing now.

About the pics, you will notice in some for tray 1 it appears some of the tops are still trying to stretch and I believe this is due to some weird genetics code from the cross to make them autoflower. I have been checking around and that seems to be the consensus, but if anyone else has any ideas please throw them my way

The new trays are doing great, even the 2 that I topped for an experiment. The G13 now appears to have 3 mains and the OG should wind up with 4 but due to some light issues its very stunted compared to the rest. We had to bring back the 400 HPS for some supplemental lighting between the 2 thousand watters and since doing that the 3rd tray is really starting to explode with growth now, almost as good as the 2nd.

And hopefully within the next 2 weeks we will be ready to start the 1st tray again and then after tray 2 & 3 are finished along with the 2 waterpacks we will start a 5th tray with the 2 pacs. That should take us to finish here and moving to the new location, but that is subject to change.:wall: LOL things always change and since we just found the perfect 4 bedroom house to rent for the next stage at my GF's property management business we might be moving before the back 2 trays are even finished. Will know more on that tomorrow after we go and take some measurements and check the electrical and A/C system out so by my next update I might have new news, till then here are the long awaited pics, enjoy :bigjoint:

After talking with a few that either run or have run them in the past we decided to skip the House and Garden nutes in favor of sticking with Cutting Edge Solutions and their additives.

Most told us that the extra expense wasn't worth the cost, they were letting us know that weights will probably drop even though the buds will be denser with better flavor. In the end it came down to cost versus weight and since it was going to cut into our bottom line we decided to skip House and Garden.

Peace out :weed:

Hello, just a quick note to let you know that Wednesday night we picked our first buds from one of the Northern Lights, total wet weight of 40.1 grams, dry 10 grams. These were not from the main cupola but were some side branches that were covered real nice in red hairs.

My scope showed nice trichomes but all were clear but my partner wanted to pick a few to try them  We tried the dry ice method of drying which worked rather well, the next morning after putting them in a paper bag overnight once the CO2 had mostly evaporated, they had lost just over 50% of their weight. By today they weighed a total of 10 grams after the final trim so the dry ice method really sped up the dry time and is fairly cheap.

Smoked some of it today to test the intensity and the high was very nice, hit the head with a nice fog after about 1 minute bongsmilie Now I can hardly wait until the rest is really ready and I can dry it naturally to see how well it improves.

I will post pics in a couple of days after I harvest some more, and the G13 are now showing nice buds at day 16 of flower. The OG Kush buds are starting to form with some yellow but still mostly green, and the White Rhino are showing green buds.

Till later peace out :weed:

Hello all, well harvest is finally over, the last 2 plants were cut down tonight  So far the weights have been good with it looking like a pound or just over from the 7 plants. Considering the space not bad, the next 2 trays should do better.

Within the next week or so the 2 old mothers should be finished also with the next 2 trays following within 3 weeks after that. After smoking some of the White Rhino we have decided to order new seeds for that strain also, adding it into our perpetual hydro grow we will be setting up after the next 2 trays finish.

Both the White Rhino and Northern Lights are more potent than any we have found at the local dispenseries and hopefully once the cure is complete it will taste as good also. None of the plants finished when advertised, some were cut Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of last week and they are now dry and being cured. The final 2 were finally cut tonight and we will allow for a 5 to 7 day dry time on them before giving out the final weights.

So without further ado here are the harvest pics, I will upload new pics of the others in a few days, enjoy bongsmilie
