large led/cfl grow room

ok ill have to add the measurements tomorrow im planning on building a grow room now i have a lot of questions sorry but i know noone that i can ask that knows any of this most is ways to diy as my budget is really low i can buy over time but want this going as soon as i can im long term out of work and on a disability benefit as i am unable to lift more than my body weight due to a car accident
the size of it is because ill be growing for my mother as well as she is unable to (nasty neighbours will dob her in)

ok has anyone had any success with diy carbon filters i have seen some done with pvc fittings seams appealing to me
also not really wanting to vent out of grow room as heat would become an issue in colder months

also what would be an ideal height for this room as i don't want to do things in halves

i plan to split the room into 3 sections
one that will be shelved and lit by cfl's or the t5 lights this will make up a small area of the room
second will be vegetative and will be the biggest part as ill have a few different stages of vegetative going at the same time under just led's as i have noticed they promote thick growth on the plants i already have under 3 led's globes
last will be budding and plan on having cfl and led mixture as i have read that led's wont do it on their own as well as they could and have seen successful grows in cfl so i figure a mix would work even better

now please poke as many holes in this as you can to help me get it ironed out

the led's will start off being cheap ebay lights and eventually become more expensive better led's only due to budget i do see this being a big hindrance to my quality of bud but i can only do what i can afford at the moment

Sounds like a plan. It will develop over time. I don't reallly think that DIY's are worth it. You still need a fan and a 4" filter is around 80 bucks. I guess it depends on the state you live in and also your proximity to your neighbors. If smell could get you Buzzted then definitely buy a fan and filter.

Hydro stores are a good source for used fans.

Another thing I don't think is worth it is CFLs and cheap LED for flowering. By the time you rig all the CFL's it ends up costing as much or more as a decent HPS setup. I got an excellent air cooled hood, ballast and bulb for $100 on Craigslist. I'd have to spend way more than that on LEDs and CFL's.

I do like LED and CFL for veg though. My plants love it.

ok i think that is worth a try but the only thing here is the price of the setup for carbon filters in australia looking at maybe 150 for a filter for the room and possibly 160 or more for a complete light setup
the reason i would like led + cfl is the wattage as my current grow will be 20 to 30 watt thats about 2ft x 2ft area where 400w light is really expensive here at 0.36c per k/wh hence the lean to that side do u know of a way that would be possible or am i still better off with a hps for the grow sorry to pick your brain

o and also i have a few fans already and can get them cheap i forgot to mention i was putting a few of them in
