I hear chewing gum is an effective defense against the swab test. Not that I'm for driving under the influence. Anyone have actual experience?

i had to do a swab test for a job. I guess Mj only shows up with in 12-24 hours of smoking. I had a buddy smoke on his way to work and had a surprise swab test and it didn't show up. Swab tests are the most inacurate drug tests anyway. If you did get caught you could probably fight it and win. You would have to lawyer up of course and not use a public pretender.

I don't think the swab test has been accepted as a reliable test by the courts. The standard of proof is much higher for a criminal prosecution.

Was very skeptical this was true once I found out it was an infowars story, however I found confirmation from the LA Times that it is true.

The L.A. times lies sometimes. Last summer they had an article saying new laws in effect that dispensaries can only sell what they grow on the premeses in all of Cali. I haven't seen one dispensary that grows anything on their grounds unless they are selling clones. Either way just stay out of L.A.

The police/city won't care, because its cheaper to pay the fine than to fight it. They'll make their money off impound if anything else.

This is one of.my biggest fears in states that are now legal.. until testing methods improve greatly, I see lots of people smoking on a Friday and getting a diu on Sunday ..
I'm surprised that it took so long with all these "DUI" checkpoints. But that is what we get for accepting checkpoints for the "greater good" of society lol.

I work in this field and have actually designed GC/MS and LC tandem tests for "illicit" drugs. best ways are hair> finger nail> urine>blood>buccal swab. You can even increase your chances by gargling well with mouth wash. The harder you swish it around the more likely you remove top layer epithelial cells they would be sampling as well as the alcohol helping to dissolve residuals that can either be spat or swallowed. It's almost like the state giving b you the oral test we've all given past girl friends.... lmao

yay legal weed, o shit you cant be high and drive??? id rather it be illegal! and have them not test for it!!! this is going to get ugly, i would love to be part of the testing they need to do to show how little marijuana effects your motor skills, they are going to treat marijuana like alcohol and that sucks they are going to put poison and the cure in the same category!!! i could literally smoke a 10 gram joint then take some dabs and drive the same if not better after, no joke when im high and driving i couldn't be more concentrated on the road and cars around me, when im driving not high i feel as though i am faster to take my eyes off the road to change the song or do something else stupid.

you cant grow marijuana and own a firearm in pretty much all places if im not mistaken BUT you can drink all you want and im pretty sure people who own distilleries are allowed to own firearms

There WILL be lawsuits; this won't last long. Mark my word. The fact that you can't decipher whether someone JUST smoked, or smoked days, even WEEKS ago, is the issue.

Now if you have been blazing up in your car and they can blatantly smell it or see the smoke, that gives them probable cause and in-their-face evidence to support their draconian swab tests. Other than that, when the wrong people are targeted/profiled/ticketed, things will get ugly. Californian is becoming a fascist state more and more everyday.

People may eventually realize that asking for full re-legalization will cause more problems than it solves.

I think what really matters here is whether or not a driver is impared, not some number generated by a rudimentary swab test. If you can pass a field sobriety test, they SHOULD have no reason to swab you...

And asking you to recite the alphabet backwards is just cruel... That one would be a better test for lis-dexia than sobriety....

lots of guns and lots of pot at my house. I have had the law here in the past. As long as you are legal to own guns and they are regestered you will be fine---mike
