So I have a problem with aphids and I want to get some ladybugs to help me with the problem.. So if I have 8 plants at 7 weeks into flower all plants aprox 5' tall how many ladybugs should I put in my room? THANKS for any help...Peace

You can buy them in packs of 1500, so late in flower and the fact that they do not live that long in the fridge I would use half and use the other half within 3 weeks

A herd is what you need. That is 1500 in one container. The main problem I see is that people just do not know a lot about Lady Bugs or how they are stored, shipped or even how to use them. What I find is there is a big communication problem between the breeders and the shippers and the end suppliers. The ship the ladybug with very little diet food and the Lady Bugs hate it in fact many will not eat it so they will die unless they get some real food in 3 days. So, keeping half of the 1500 sounds nice to conserve you expense of buying more in reality what you are telling the remaining ladybugs is a death sentence. So, I would not recommend keeping ladybugs for any length of time anywhere. So set them free if you do not think you can use all the 1500 a herd. Ladybug survival is really paramount to finding food and forming a herd. So, why break up a herd? Keep them together release them together they will have a better chance of survival with their scouts in already in the herd; they mark out their territory and function as a group. Two years of research reveals that Lady Bugs do need a nesting box or house to learn more Google a new blog called "History of the Ladybug” you will be very happy you did.
