Hey everyone. I appreciate all the feed back I can get on this thread.

• 600 watt HPS for veg and flower
• 3 DNA Genetics La Confidential mothers
• EZ Clone 60 site
• Miracle Gro Moisture Control for mothers undecided for flower soil/hydro
• About a 4x4 flower room/veg room

The girls are a little over two weeks old. I'm not sure yet whether I want to go soil of hydro for my SOG set up. I can afford hydro but not sure the diffaculty of hydro yet. Hopefully I can get some pointers on hydro from the views of this thread. Pics will be up soon. When thy get about one month old. There's just not much to see now.

I have grown this strain before the smoke was great I can post some pics of the buds if anyone wants to see what the nugs look like. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask!

If you want my 2cents i use ffof mix with perilite and i get a gram per watt when i have my tent full so its up to you i noticed hydro feels more like a job when there is problems so the choice is really yours..... I would also recommend no defoliating i spent the last year experimenting with it and im not doing it again and since you have a easy cloner you can pump way more out i also use 14" tall 4" wide pots so i can fit 10 in a 10x20 prop tray and i rape so yeah.....

What's the ratio of Fox Farm with perlite do you use? An where do you get such tall pots? Thanks for the reply bro!

First off, take that Miracle Gro and put it with your lawn equipment. <<< Very first thing is get that out of the equation.

And if you have the money for Hydro I'd go that route. It's cleaner, faster, healthier, less prone to getting bugs and produces bigger buds on the average.

Hydro setups are just a simple science experiment. Don't be intimidated by them at all.

Weedy is right about hydro besides the healthier part nothing is more healthy than fully flushed organic soil not a plant that lives off nutrients in water thats why dispenseries sell organic for way more imo.....The treepots i use are from a site called stuewe and sons if you type treepot in google should be the first couple options you see they are the tall ones the only small downside to these is on the bottom of the pots they arent flush so i had to take a knife and cut them then because the hole was so big i bought a cheap window screen from lowes and cut perfect squares to put in the bottom kind of a job but when its done it works well hope that wasnt too confusing.Oh yeah i was using 50/50 ffof perilite but ive been doing 70/30 seeing if there is a difference.:blsmoke:

weedyGrin: So you're saying hydro isn't real diffacult? Here's what I was thinking for hydro if I was to take that route, ebb and flow system, 600 watt HPS, 2x4 foot tray, rockwool "flock", 6'x9' inch pots, so four plants per square foot, and since I'm a beginner with hydro what would you reccomend for nutrients for a beginner from Advanced Nutes, or Canna? I'm a stranger to hydro I've read and read on it but would rather hear advice from a grower. And I semi agree with you on the MG subject. But I did my last grow with MG Moisture Control and it worked out great. But I had a couple other plants in just some MG I bought on sale. And that was SHIT. The only MG soil I would use is the Moisture Control one. Idk why but it turned out well for me. I wish I would have kept the pics she was a monster but she had been vegged for a long timeee. I got a quarter pound from her and before everyone says anything she was my mom for like 3 or 4 months and was topped at about a month in, an experiment more than anything. It was not a real efficient way to do things but hey it was a fun time.

jbiz206: How many plants do you run at a time? 10 or so you said? And thanks for the info! I just checked out the site great advice. Exactly what I'm looking for if I'm taking the soil route. Perfect for SOG. Thanks again.

If my tent is full i can run 80 only did that once its hard to have everything coordinated perfect but no problem on the info i wish i had someone to show me my first time. With nutrients i personally run advanced ph ppm perfect and if you were to run hydro these are the best you can buy no matter how much you put in water the ph never moves from 5.7 i took a 1/4 gallon of water and put 8ml of conni a and b just to fuck around and see what would happen thats 4x the amount your supposed to put by the way and i left it for maybe 4 days and it was still at 5.7 fuckin crazy.:blsmoke:

Nice! Yeah 80 would be a handful and the thing is NO ONE knows I grow or smoke. So I can't ask anyone about anything! I was kinda intimated by the whole online thing talking about my grow and what not but I just decided to give it a shot and so far I'm loving it. I've learned a lot since this forum started today. How about the PPM isn't there specific levels you're suppose to run there too, I've read about hydro so much but still have questioned I need cleared up. And you kinda confused me do you run both soil and hydro?

Sorry bout that i was kinda unclear i dont run hydro but if i did i would run them with my nutes as far as the ppm and stuff i run base at half and additives at 1/4 to 1/2 that little bit bout me fucking around was just to see how stable the ph was under high ppm, most nutes fluctuate and these stayed right on point i was amazed......

Yeah. So what's your set up you run? I got the soil mix. But if was to replicate your soil SOG grow. What all would I need just soil wise. Cause I'm open to new ideas so whatever information you have helps!

Meaning you use Fox Farm plus perlite. Is there anything else you add to the soil? Also how do you like your LED light? I've heard mixed opinions on those too.

I know that soil is most healthy cuz it's natural, but it's also more difficult to optimize in my opinion. Even though hydro is supposedly more advanced in my opinion it's simpler. For one, the watering is automated. That alone is a godsend compared when trying to remember when to water/but not overwater with soil.

No, hydro isn't too difficult. In fact, once setup, it's way less labor intensive then soil because it's all automated. You just change out the reservoir every 2 weeks (or every week if you want to be really on point).

Yeah, ebb and flow is the most reliable hydro setup. 600 watt is good, not too hot but still powerful. Honestly, there should be some instructions for what nutrients to use that come with the hydro kit. I just use Botanicare. Not because I like it the best but it just works and I've been using it for years so i don't change.

If you want the instructions for using botanicare just message me.

Haha na man! I was talking about me posting some but I can't now I thought you could post pics with a phone but can't and my laptop isn't working now. So I have to get on that for the clones and when flower comes around! But one more question what size carbon filter you think would be a good choice Can 33, or Can 66 filter? I would really like to keep odor down! Cause this La Con stinks up things bad!

I use a 6 inch sunleaves fan with a 6x16 inch phresh filter but my fan is hooked up to a variable transformer (speed controller) at 75% works great.:blsmoke:

Alright guys I think I decided what I want to do. I'm pretty sure I'm going to run about 60 plants a batch and keep mothers rolling and then next grow start running some hydro. I'm might get a little hydro unit to try to learn some before I start running a big table or two cause I'll be adding on to the grow room after this grow. Does that sound like a decent idea to everyone?
