July 2012, finally goin organic, better late than never I guess. Hydro has been payin bills in my house for the last four or five years ever since I found Rumples thread and shit was easy and worked. We have been switching food in our house over to organic, homegrown, farmed, hunted or gathered for the last few years and its about time to switch the meds. I am not a complete noob to organics as my veg garden and my mother plants have been organic for the last couple of years. Thge more I have grown hydro the more problems I have encountered and the bud compared to the organic mothers I have flowered has not been near the taste or quality. I will be upgrading equiptment as I go and will be again revamping the room after this run. I have another week or two on my current run and have begun veg on the organic future, heres the summary.

-100% legal Michigan medical grow
-2 ea 600w hps/mh
-1 ea 400w hps
-1 ea 4in vortex fan
-1 ea carbon filter(about 2.5 footer)
-3 ea sour diesel clones
-3 ea kushberry clones ( all clones bought from a new dispensary in town, last clones I will ever buy)
- Starter mix = 1 part worm castings, 1 part perlite, 1 part peat hummus

I have alot to learn and know I am in the right place for that, may the ganja gods bless me.

Thanks for checkin me out tomcat, I plan on transplanting into 5gallon smartpots once I get them into my flower room and using a soil mix of Promix, worm castings, perlite, blood meal and bone meal and a little bat guano. I am not sure what ratios yet but I'll figure it out. My initial feeding will be done with the compost tea I started last night supplemented with a little general organics cal/mag. As far as the picture of my current run you are looking at, its a 6 plant scrog you just cant see the screen because its covered in stanky buds right now, but trust me its there.

BEAST MODE. With all that light your temps dont get ti high for that 4in. Or do you vent the room rather thwn the lights?

I vent the 2 600's but not the 400 at all and I don't vent the room, not an ideal setup I know but my highest temps during the last few days were in the high eighties and the outside temps were damn near 100. My room is in the basement and is concrete from floor to ceiling and that helps I'm sure. Does anyone think I would be better off pulling outside air thru my lights and out of the room and then just running a carbon filter and fan inside the room? Would the carbon filter be effective that way?

My garden's a bit more "open" than yours is, with 5 plants, and all I use to ventilate are 2 fans blowing away from the plants. There's air from the middle of the room being sucked through the fan, pushing the heat away from my light/plants. My black thermometer (digital that shows indoor and outdoor humidity/temperature) shows higher readings than the area actually is, though. My plants are fine and the last couple of days here in SWEET SWEET MICHIGAN it's been hitting 100 degrees Fahrenheit outdoors, but indoors my thermometer reads 85 - 90 and my plants seem to be loving it!

In California, my friend Natalie tells me, it hits 100 degrees there all the time and people have their outdoor gardens on their front porch with their plants doing just fine. Marijuana is a tropical plant therefore I think it can handle a bit of heat. That might slow down growth, but that's motherfucking nature for ya'.

If if it`s a legal medical grow doubt you`d even need a carbon filter , Probably wrong though . Nice grow what strain is that ?, I like the purple pheno seen it on some of my outdoor sativa`s sometimes .

Its a legal grow and definitely needs a carbon filter, just because its legal doesn't mean I want everyone who enters my house to know about it. Tha strain is green house seeds Super lemon haze.

All is well brother, things are finishing up soon and I will be able to put a fresh coat of paint on the room and get these in there. I have obtained a few new cuts to mother out and see if any of them are any good. I got two blue dream cuts 1 from ohio and 1 from michigan, and 1 blueberry cut. I love be some blueberry, lets hope this a good one. I also plan on buying a tent to keep mothers and veg in, my old system for that isn't gonna cut anymore.

Good to hear that all is going well! I'm jealous of you blue dream cuts and no longer can participate in this thread...JK!! I hope both strains end up being keepers! What kind of light do you keep your mothers under? Right now I don't have a mother cab but would like to add one in the near future

My mother cab was a weak ass 2x2x4 osb box i built that I kept in my flower room for a couple of years before I ran into too many problems. 86"ed that piece of shit and now I'm gonna keep a tent in another section of my basement. Right now I just have a 4' flourescent fixture from menards and plan on supplementing with cfl's once I get the tent.

Finally got to the shop and got some supplies.Everthing is planted and ready to start filling screen. The kushberry have stretched far more than the sour deisel at this point but I plan on topping the KB soon and hopefully the SD will cath up. The grow shop was out of the pro mix I wanted and talked me into the humbodlt product instaed. And I even used of that old hydro equiptment for a tea brewer, seems to be working good.
