Kill It?

So I am on my first grow and one of my plants is not doing well compared to the others. Thinking about pulling it.

Grow details:
20" x 36" x 5' tent
Meizhi 450w LED (both switches on) + 4x 45w CFL
Good airflow
lights on temps 24-26C (75-79)
lights off temps a few degrees cooler
ProMix with EWC, dolomite and perlite
GO Box nutes at 1/2 strength - water, nutes, water, nutes, etc. letting it dry out for a day or two between

Plants:
1x White Widow (fem): 30 days old. The biggest and healthiest of them all. FIMed about 5 days ago and it recovered in no time. Growing bushy AF. It just "beams" with health.

1x Bubba Kush (unkown sex, bag seed): This is the problem plant. Same age as the WW, but 50% smaller and showing signs of N toxicity (I think). Droopy leaves, two bottom-most leaves (not cotyledons) turned yellow so I cut them off, yellow tips on some leaves, pale green new growth. Overall and obviously unhappy plant. Has had the exact same everything that the WW has.

2x Critical Kush (regular, unknown sex): Planted about 6 days after the WW and BK. Very healthy, happy and vigorous - like the WW was at this stage. Have had the exact same everything that the WW has.

1x CB Dream (fem): Planted about 10 days after the WW and BK. Also, very happy. Not quite as dark green as the WW and 2 CK, but no signs of anything wrong. Has had the exact same everything that the WW has.

So it seems like the environmental variables are dialed in, but for some reason this bag seed Bubba just isn't happy.

Questions:
Kill it? Or try to save it and learn something along the way?

Is BK a particularly sensitive strain?

Does this sound like too much N?

Note: I do hope to get one male out of this group and, depending on the health of the plant at the time, will let it pollinate (at least one of) the females so I can harvest a bunch of cross-bred seeds. I am not overly concerned about maximizing the potency of the buds, because I can get high from "shake" - and I hate paying $10 per seed!

So, kill the BK or keep it? I'm leaning toward killing it, because it seems genetically inferior.

Oops, light schedule is 18/6, BTW.

Thinking of switching to 12/12 soon because I need to harvest these by about the Middle of July.

I reckon it's part of growing man. One in a thousand plants are just total dudz.

I have a very similar experience to yours this time around.
My strain are seeds I grew myself from White Russian. I get three phenotypes. The Ak-47, White Widow, and the Russian.
I've had a great time with every seed. Out of dozens.
But this time around, one out of my three was a total dud. Nitrogen claw as you say. Pissy popcorn buds, weren't getting fatter, leggy, shit node spacing etc. Same ph, same ppms, same medium, same pot, same volume of feed and schedule. Same seeds, same age, same parents. Everything exactly the same.
I couldn't bare the sight of it. So said fuck it, pull it. Roots were healthy and white, smell was lovely too. No disease at all.
I killed the thing a week ago.1524863153723-1192272896.jpg IMAG0328.jpg

This is the Russian pheno. 6.5 weeks in. About two weeks to go.

My bubba kush plants were short in stature and the big fat buds were prone to mold even when nothing else did. And thats about all I can tell ya.
My cut may have sucked.
Got any pics?

Thanks for that info. Maybe I don't want these Bubba genes in my tent. It's not like I love Bubba buds any more than any random Indica. Found the seed and decided to give it a chance...

Got a pic from 4 days ago, but it looks worse today. Will snap one later and post.

Imho.
If you can't stand the sight of it every day. Fuck the thing.
It'll make you feel better. Always does for me anyways

I agree to an extent.
I usually try it a few times to be sure Im not the problem and Im not ditching a winner.

But today we have such access its probably no biggy.

Op could clip a clone just to keep around until you are sure.

Or yeah, kill that bitch and get something you love

Thanks guys. Still mulling it over.

Even without this plant I am sure I will have a nice little supply for me for a while. Will likely get at least a couple of ounces out of the rest and will be starting another grow at the end of August, so no real "need" to keep (or replace) this little fucker. A 1/4 ounce lasts me several weeks.

Will post a photo later for shits n' giggles (if I remember :bigjoint:).

i smoked a quarter ounce reading this thread.

Why dont you learn from it. Not all plants like the same nutes //strength. You have four different strains they need four different nutrient requirements. Has had the exact same everything that the WW has. Who gives a rats ass what the WW had. Taking the easy route didnt work out now fix it.

You kill the plant your a punk. Not me talking its the plant that said that.

I'm leaning toward killing it, because it seems genetically inferior.

What if yo momma and poppa said that bout you? HUH HUH
Again not me its the plant.

I like your style Bernie, but go fuck yourself!

Just kidding.

I do see your point. I could use this as a learning opportunity. I just don't know if I am in the mood to coddle this little fucker while all the rest (different strains) are thriving in the exact same conditions.

Next thing you know, it's going to be demanding that I refer to it by its preferred personal pronoun. Fuck that shit.

Yup, take the easy road. Way to go killer oops I mean plant killer.

I wish you wouldn't of said just kidding cuz i could of been fucking myself right now.

Yeah im just messing with you.

read your post doesnt even sound like you have a problem. Did you even ask the plant if it was un-happy? Maybe it was just in a mood or something, bitches can be like that.

I euthanized it. Sorry no pic. The thing got much worse quickly.

I now suspect overwatering (lack of oxygen to the roots) might have been the problem. My 2 CKs are now a bit droopy. Will let them dry out until they perk up. Will also get them out of the clay pots and into smart pots.

Lesson learned.

Cool man.
Pulling it gave you some valuable info too!
The others weren't far off.
The baba probably likes more humidity. Which means it doesn't need so much water. It would like things, warm and sticky. Like a rain forest.

Humidity averages about 40% in the tent.

The dead one was in a clay pot, and so are the 2 CKs. WW is in a 3 gal smart pot and CB Dream is in a 3 gal plastic "self-watering" pot. The WW and CB Dream are still super-happy, as I am only watering the first 2-3 inches around the stem - so I guess they are getting plenty of O2.

Going to get the 2 CKs into smart pots after work today. From now on I am going to go from seedling cup to smart pot right away and use this same method of only watering around the stems until they fill out the pots and start asking for more water.

100%.
Great move OP.
That's a great watering practice too.
