I am growing for personal use and I am going to have allot of weed left over. I smoke about a oz a month and if all my plants do ok I will have over a pound EASILY.

So here is my question. I love smoking blunts, could I roll a shit load off blunts and keep them in a cigar humidor for up to a year?????

Don't roll those blunts and just put the buds in an air tight container in the freezer.

He's right, a freezer bag or a air tight container and freeze it
I looked around on this site and more than one person said that freezing can harm the tricoms and lessen the potency. Is this true?

Why wouldnt a humidor work, they keep cigars fresh? I mean nobody freezes expensive cigars? (if im totally off excuse my ignorance)

I do not believe that the THC can be damaged in the freezer. They may break off. I have always liked to think that the freezer pushed out more trics. I don't think that its true though.

thanks man, Ill will most likely freeze a majority of my extra stash.

But what about humidors, anyone ever used one for weed? im just really curious as to why they work for high quality tobacco and not MJ

i've never heard of humidors being used before, but if you have acess to one, try it out, could be better than freezing

Hmmm... well, from personal experience, alls I do is just put it in an air tight glass jar in the frige. When you close the frige, the lights go off so it's nice and dark. Also, it stays cold enough to keep it fresh, but not so cold that it freezes it and causes damage to your beloved nugs. You can get an air tight jar just about anywhere...

Anddd as far as using a humidifier, I wouldn't think that is necessary if you are using an air tight jar. With it being closed off like that, and moist, I'd assume the humidity would naturally be extremely high. But, who am I to say? It works for me, and I have stored bud for over a year like that. I use to have a reserve where I'd pinch half a gram or so from the tip of the best nug in the bag (of chronic) that I got throughout the year, just to save it for a crazy smoke out on 4/20. I'm such a pothead! Haha

Good luck with your yield.

I've tried with bad results. I can't tell you the science behind why this works to keep tobacco but not your stash, but my attempt resulted in a moldy mess. Humidors are not air tight and a good one with a humidification system and cedar lining will ideally stay at 70-75% humidity. Even before the mold set in, I didn't like the taste imparted by the cedar; complements a good cigar, but not your bud.

My advice would be go with the freezer or increase your consumption
