Today marks the end of week three so maybe one more week and it's flowering time.

Gotta go get some saran wrap for the T5HO lights or I'm going to get some leaf burn.

Those two statements you quote compliment each other, believe it or not. See, the temptation to do such a thing is hindered by not having a spot or the tray needed for rooting clones. I have a box for cloning, but not the tray for rapid rooters. I also have no other available power outlets for operating the cloning box. My last apartment had more power outlets and a larger circuit breaker box thus I could cram in more equipment.

So your aversion to being around potheads in the real world is unfounded. Especially if you're using me as an example. Floyd might be a better example to use.
So it makes sense to you then.

I'd find a cup of water and 5w LED if I wanted clones bad enough; yes, shit would get done, but concentrating on those 3 ladies right there is a good strategy too. Can't go wrong with dank. :blsmoke:

So today is end of week three. I broke, and I put saran wrap on the lights. The leaves were so close to touching, now they're restrained. I think that next week is the final one for veg, then it's flowering time.

Almost halfway through with week 4. I've started turning on the HPS lamp, and have decided against switching out my 6500K tubes for 3000K. Let's see how bottom T5HO popcorn compares to top HPS colas.

Here's the HPS, just turned on, hasn't even had a chance to really glow, yet.

Oh, and just for fun I decided to clean and rebuild the light meter portion of the defunct multi-meter I had for gardening. Now it functions properly, as with disassembly I was able to find out what sort of panel was being used and what needed to be attached to it for the meter to work without that stupid switch and bulky crap. Turns out it just hooks directly to the meter, no caps or resistors.

Here's a pic of it in action, halfway into the canopy, with the HPS on with the T5HOs, and a pic of it in action with my thumb covering the panel - there's so much light, mainly from the HPS, that it goes through my thumb and still makes the panel give a reading.

Going by this meter, you don't want your light levels anywhere below 500. The outer seedlings are fine, the inner clones are going to kick serious butt.

That's going to be part of the experiment - I'm going to see which buds come out better, the HID colas or the T5HO under-canopy popcorn.

The white bucket does allow light in but I've never had algae problems. Indoor lights aren't powerful enough to really penetrate plastic. The sun, on the other hand, is plenty powerful. The white buckets outside do have the tiniest bit of algae forming on the underside of the lid, but the reservoir itself has no algae. I haven't had any root issues yet. You may notbe totally cleaning out your bucket with each reservoir change, which will cause eventual browning of the roots as buildup from prior reservoirs starts to form.

Man, I love it. First day of 12/12 done, and I come into the closet to see this.

First Hindu Skunk, Second Purple Kush. WW hasn't shown yet, maybe in a couple more days, as plenty of sites have formed.

Thanks kali. Yea I just wanted to hear from someone had light goin through there plastic a lil too and didn't have no problems. So I won't worry bout coverin it yet. As medi told me it could be my micro that's doin it. It don't stink like rotton eggs that's for sure

It was just a power surge, phew, but, I popped in the new bulb any ways, which I probably should have done from the beginning. All is back to normal, and there is much more light output. It's so bright in there now that I do have to wear my sunglasses when I slip in to peek. It's so bright even my DXG camera can't compensate. The meter pegs over 2000 everywhere until I get to the seedlings on the outside, and even then it's still hitting about 1200 on the meter.

Oh, and I cut a clone from the PK and WW each to go with the accidental HS clone. Rapid rooter + roting hormone+ tray of water. Easy peasy. Nothing special required.

that looks good! hey i was wondering using expanded clay are you getting mold on the top of the clay where it hits the light ? and do you get high humidity from that. i like the way it looks like it works other then the rockwool in the beguinnin i wanna stay away from any kind of mold. or high evaporation .

also i was wondering how often you add nutes and or change water. or what exactly your system is cuz i think im not doin enough . or right.

I change weekly. I don't get mold or anything on the expanded clay, but if stuff does appear I have H2O2 to carefully spray on anything that might have residue building up.
