i do not disagree with the kid getting shot, the dumbass threw rocks at a BP...i'd hope for a lesser result but what happened.... happened.

what i disagree with is that the 'solution to the illegal problem' sounds a lot like the 'solution to the jewish problem' according to you and many others....the whole invade/kill/vigilante line of thought. it is frightening.

for your edification, illegals still DO get trials. they often get to stay despite their illegality. you seem to use google extensively, surely you have seen this. they do not 'get shot'. this is not iran

I agree with fdd.

its so easy for these illegals to cross the border what is stopping some terrorist bringing a nuclear bomb into our country and detonating it and then slip right back to mexico? We need to have tougher penalties to those that decide to break our laws and enter our country illegally as well as a better plan in place to prevent them from doing so. its a war we are fighting at the border. a war against drugs, child prostitution, human smuggling etc. etc. etc. we need to treat it as such and In wars people get shot.

Sounds like junior was pretty well known to LEO's and the BP.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Federal records show that a 15-year-old Mexican boy shot and killed by U.S. Border Patrol agents was among El Paso's most wanted juvenile smugglers.
According to federal arrest records reviewed by The Associated Press, Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka had been arrested at least four times since 2008 and twice in the same week in February 2009.
A Border Patrol agent shot and killed the teen on June 7 while trying to arrest illegal immigrants crossing the muddy bed of the Rio Grande. Some witnesses said a group of people on the Mexican side were throwing rocks at the agents. Agents are permitted to use lethal force against rock throwers.

i have pointed out before that this kid's criminal history is irrelevant, unless of course the BP had some super ESP and knew about all these offenses in those moments he chose to fire. it has no bearing on the 'justified or not?' question, whatsoever. besides, this is fairly old news

Crap, I didn't realize YOU were the one that pointed it out, but then again perhaps it is relevant - is it possible that BP has some knowledge of such a young and infamous individual since he "was among El Paso's most wanted juvenile smugglers"?

alright, suppose they did recognize him in the chaos and from a distance. i will grant that.

now assuming they recognized him, does that make it OK for them to shoot to kill for that alone without his day in court? last time i checked, even illegals get trials. it is part of the silly 'innocent until proven guilty' principle american believe in. we don't simply drag suspected criminals behind the court house to shoot them, no matter how damning the evidence.

so still irrelevant.

You have your opinion and I have mine, so shall we agree to disagree?

Then again there is this: Justified; to prove or show to be just, right, or reasonable b (1) : to show to have had a sufficient legal reason.
Since we have sufficiently ascertained that the BP agent acted within the law (yes?), he was justified in that he had sufficient legal reason in shooting said individual.
Case closed.
