Does anyone use CREE lighting? What are your thoughts on them and have you used other lighting to compare it too?

What do you mean by cree lighting? As far as I know cree makes individual leds, not a horticultural lamp. Other companies use cree led to make their lamps but I'd go by reviews of the lamp company

They make household lighting, and other bigger bulbs

Household lighting would be inefficient I'd think. The advantage with led is using specific wavelengths for plants. No personal experience with such cree products obviously

I spoke with the organics/horticultural dude near me. He has a good set up with them. Good looking plants.

These are the bulbs that we,you,I,us cfls GROWERS should be after to replace our cfl bulbs with.They are still a little on the pricey side for me to make the jump just yet.I would need at least 8 bulbs to crossover.I do use a couple 5000k 11.5w Sylvania bulbs in a veg light though and I like'em.You have to remove the plastic globe before you use them...I guess you don't have to but I did.

There are a couple riu growers using these types of bulbs in their grows with good results using the lower wattage bulbs.I would just prefer the 18w(100w)over the 11.5w(75w) or 9w(60w) because of the higher watt per lumens.

The one I'm getting is 5000k, it was recommended.

That's right 5000k,6400k are good for veg and can be used for flowering too...but I would recommend adding some 2700k for flowering For veg or flower it's always best to use a mixed spectrum of lighting.It's my opinion the plants really like a mixed spectrum even if it's off spectrum for flower or veg.Hope that made sense

cree do flood lights up to 250 watts not to sure how they would go as a grow light but i have seen them on ebay not to sure now if it was cree or cobb maybe vero lol

I got a good deal through my hydro guy. Not near 10.00, that's for sure. But I've seen them go for more

I was going to put in two foot fluorescents in my small cab but they're twice the price of four foot ones.

What kind of coverage per bulb or how many bulbs per square foot would I need?

All the spotlights I looked at appeared to be 6000k color temp

Imo those lights arnt worth it unless you can get them cheap. if your into DIY you could try Cree cxa 3070 or cxa 3050. There is info everywhere on this site about them
