Ok just switched from soil to DWC since I had everything around to make it.. any ways strains are juicyfruit and Blueberry. appx 2weeks old. I just put 4 JF and 4 bb 1 diesel seedlings under 600hps I do not have EC meter yet so cant check ppm... but I have determined that its not ph my ph is between 5.5 and 6 but they are starting to yellow.. is it time for a light nute mix? I typically am good on feeding til the 4th week when i was in soil so wanted to double check before I feed. thx

I would say if they are two weeks old and under a 600W you should be good to give the a 1/4 strenght nute mix, then up your dosage from their. Soil has nutes already so you dont have to start as early, I normally place 1/4 nute mix as soon as the third set of leaves start emerging. Good luck.

I can agree with this one, at two weeks 1/4 strength, bump it up a quarter in about three days from then, no adverse effect, etc til full strength. I used the Hygrozime in the aerocloner, DirtBagBrian recommended it. VV

lol I think that will b my new rule now too.
:p

it just works easier for us; beans can be grown in dirt, and flowered to test for good moms. moms can be revegged flowered soil plants, or a clone planted in dirt. that way, moms can be neglected, as well as seed plants, giving me time to care for the massive hydros :p

kp,

when u say 1/4 nutes, do you mean 1/4 nutes of the recommended amount for cuttings or 1/4 nutes of what the full amount of nutes are?

for example, i have a clone w/ solid roots that i am starting tomorrow, or today to be technical, the directions say 1/4 teaspoon per gallon for cuttings. do i add 1/4 of the recommended amount or add the 1/4 teaspoon per gallon as directed. i have heard that if u follow the recommended amount you can easily cause nute burn, and as this is my first dwc grow i only have 1 plant so it needs to be right.

Thanks in advance.

1/4 teaspoon per gallon as directed. ie, gh 3 part is made for and exclusively tested on medical marijuana, and therefore, the values are accurate, and don't need to be adjusted down. when it says 3 teaspons per gallon gro, 2 micro, and 1 bloom, they mean it. good stuf, and the plants love it.

kool thread. I like to germ my seedlings in starter soil get them to third set of leaves and then put them in my dwc. the roots aren't that big and it keeps me from getting to parinoid that my rockwool is too wet.

It is easiest to grow seedlings in jiffy plugs.Just soak um for a mintue in tap water, squeeze a lil and drop ur tap root in the hole. Easier than soil in the way that u dont have to worry about rinsing dirt off, and better than wool all the way around for dwc cuz the jiffy plugs come pre-ph'd so u dont have to worry conditioning water as well as getting them to wet cuz they are literally a plug sponge made of peat moss and other stuff. Made for dwc especially!
Hope that helps

Thanks I can't find any jiffy plugs around me. The hydro store is about an hour from me. I use what I have around. I do need some 4" pots so next time I go I might buy some
