Just made the transition

I'm very new, have you noticed if you have the led lights too close to the leafs they tend to look like the color fades? Is this common?
They were pretty close for a while due to lack of head space in the cab. I just bought another 300W panel that should be here on the 3rd and built a taller cab that will fit them both. Right now its just the one 300w panel and its a little further back but I did get some bleaching.

Things are going well and Ive made some changes today. I just finished building the girls new home which is quite a bit larger than the old cab. I ordered another 300w panel that Ill install on the 3rd when its supposed to show up so I should have plenty of power to expand to 4 plants for the next grow.
The buds are getting very dense and hard and are getting that nice frost on them and smell like a skunk that took a bath in kerosine and diesel fuel, yum. All in all Im pretty impressed with it so far. Im excited to see what 600w of LED will do on the next go around :)

residue on leaves can interfere with photosynthesis,or so im told :)
Not a bad point, I'm sure it does to some degree. I wouldn't think it would be major but I'm sure it has an impact. Next grow is going to hydro so no more watering from the top :) Will be two Blue Widows in a DWC with the 600W of LED and hopefully a SCROG. Already have the two 5gal systems almost built, just have to wait on the nets and nutes to show up and the clones to be ready. It should be all good to go before this one is ready to harvest....hopefully Ill be able to be patient :)

The other light arrived today so I couldn't wait to get it installed and up and running, really digging opening up the box and just getting bathed in purple light :bigjoint:. I just about finished up the DWC set up, waiting on the net pots and nutes still but the two clones are looking healthy and ready to get their hydro on. Cut off one of the smaller/lower buds to get an idea of where its at, so far so good, lots of trichs, very sticky and smells potent and it feels very hard, little to no give at all. I'll dry it out for a few days and see how it tastes.

Girls are still looking healthy but there is definitely some nute difficulty with some spotting on the leaves. Also the bleaching is getting a bit worse so Ill look to raise the lights again. Other than that things seem to be looking good. Im probably going to start to chop off some of the buds that are mature and start thinning out the plant with a full harvest next week. I would adjust the nutes and let it go another few weeks but Im chomping at the bit to get two of these clones into my DWC set up that I just finished and throw them under the LEDs so Ill continue flushing for another week and harvest early. On a side note the one that I chopped off last week smoked fantastic and had a terrifically strong cerebral high which I like a lot.

Have you measured actual watts draw? I saw they listed them as "100 x 3W LED's", and usually that means the draw/output is 2/3-3/4 of that figure.

Looks good so far, they stayed nice and squat for that space.

Correct its exactly that, 200 total 3W LEDs and I would also guess that the draw is probably closer to 400W for both panels combined but I don't have a kilwatt meter to hook up to it at the moment. Might be a purchase I make soon just to see where its actually at.

Just picked up this guy for 20 bucks and free shipping on amazon. This should give the answer when it shows up :)View attachment 2607843

Yup Kill-o-watt I think is a brand name but a killowatt meter search would come up with a few options around $20-25.

A few pics after chopping them down. Ill post the weight afterward once they all dry. I'm happy with the results but really more excited to test the potential of the light in a DWC set up which Ill start documenting next :)IMG_2959.jpgIMG_2960.jpgIMG_2961.jpgIMG_2962.jpgIMG_2963.jpgIMG_2964.jpgIMG_2969.jpgIMG_2975.jpg

There is a cause to getting Dark Green leafs, but I am high as fuck right now and can't think whether it's proximity to heat, too much blue, not enough green/yellow/red or all the above

I use hydro. During veg I spray plants with RO + a pinch of Himalayan Sea Salt (<80ppms). If you see too much residue simply spray with pure RO
