just got the room together... looking for advice!!

i just put my rooted clones in and gave them the first feeding. im running X nutrients standard line and orca, (beneficial bacteria).
my light is a 4x8 t5 (only running half power right now). i still need to set up a ventilation to get cold air in so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. this is my first grow so let me no if you see something that isnt right.

DWC: 5 gall - 6 inch pod - small airstone ( curently have 4 gallons in each )

strains:
2x blue dream
1x casey jones
1x head band

with my feeding the recommended amount was:
week 1
grow 8ml
micro 10ml
ppm 567

orca 10 gallons 5ml

being that there clones i cut the number of ML and gave them:
(this is all together per plant)
grow 11ml
micro 15ml

orca 4 gallons 2ml

i checked the ph and ppm for each ph was around 6 for each (using the ph drop test, getting electric ph meter in a week)
blue 1- ppm 310
blue 2- ppm 320
casey- 340
headband- 320

Looking good so far. The digital PH meters are definitely worth the investment, just make sure to get the calibration liquid and storage liquid if yours requires that. I would also make sure that there isn't light getting in the bucket since it is blue.

Just saw your name, I'm in AZ also. This heat is terrible never too early to figure out ventilation.

what should i cover my buckets.. i have alot of the panda film still..or should i just buy black ones.. and good to see another az member, the heat does suck but im only doing one grow in the closet so im not tryint to go to crazy of ventilation, enough to keep the plants happy. have you grown and if so what was your solution to heat?

there's quite a few arizonans around here. a few hang out in the AZ medical forum.

if indeed light is going through those buckets, wrapping them with the panda would be fine. i'd open up a bucket, shine a powerful flashlight on it with the lights out, and see if light gets in.



when i first started growing with 1000 watt, the heat in my closet would get into the 90s during the summer. then i found the magic of fans and filters.

i did a bubbling bucket grow but i overferted them and they all died while i was at work. i'm strickly soil these days. much more forgiving.

Couple questions. How often should I empty and clean the buckets? what with?
And i realised i was supposed to soak the clone for a little, but I put the orca in the buckets, do you think the girls will be OK?

I used to clean out my buckets once a week or when the water was low enough I had to refill it with just using paper towel and water. This grow i let my plant get too big and I cant even get it out of the bucket or the closet. I am stuck siphoning water from another bucket to the one in the closet. Luckily I haven't had any issues, roots look great and with no slime or bad smell.
