Just Got My Seeds! Ready to Rock! White Widows, First Grow, 4 Months in Waiting!

Hey guys! Been waiting for this for a looong time. Got my Medical Card about 4 months ago but had to wait til i got my settlement check. Who knew that fucking up yer back could be this awesome!! lol. Anyways ...

Been working on my setup off and on for 4 months, spent about 2 grand on equipment then ordered my seeds and now they are here. Not quite finished with the growing room yet, but i guarantee it will be done hella soon! ordered 5 White Widows (fem'd) for my first grow from Nirvana. Took about 2 1/2 weeks so not bad! I know there are TONS of people here that are on their first grow as well, but I did my research up the yang. So hopefully this turns out right and you guys enjoy this ride with me! But guys, if you see anything im doing wrong don't be shy, i know research can only take you so far before you actually see how things turn out. So feel free to slap me upside the head or tell me im an idiot! lol i just wanna do this right.

Side note: Not that it matters, but doesnt nirvana usually send you more seeds than you ordered. Hate to sound greedy or ungrateful but that was kind of a selling point for ordering from em.

Equipment:
2 1000w bulbs, MH for veg, HPS for flowering
4 CFL's 2 bulbs each, 40w t8's
2 inline fans, 6" for light temp control, 4" for air filtering inside box
Seeds will start in Fox Farms Light Warrio seed starting soil
3 Stations, Seedling/Clones station - 4 CFL Bulbs on a 18/6 timer - Mother Plant Box, Can hold up to 8 mother plants also 4 CFLs - Veg/Flowering room can hold up to 8 plants.
Not sure on what nutes i will be getting, gotta talk to the grow shop guys. Thats gonna be my weak point hehe

Now quick question, is there anything i should be doing besides watering at this point? Lights are at 18/6 and are about 8 inches away from the top of the soil.

Nice setup for a first grow i plan on getting a 600 real soon maybe 2.I would love to see how your 1000s work out for ya.I think i can get some nice cuts from a friend so i think that will be my first grow on this board..

Nice man, i wish i had buddies to get cuts from lol, stingy bastards! But i kinda wanted to start from seed cuz i didnt want to risk bugs and what not and with seed i can control it 100%. I was going to go with a 600, but the difference in price was like 30 bucks, so i went with a full 1000w. Hope it goes good for ya tho man. I'll keep an eye out for ya.

hell yea, wish i had some doe to throw at my attempt, so, the seeds that first sprouted, how are they?

They are doing awesome, taking off like a marathon runner! lol. They are about 4 inches now, ill take new pictures later tonight, they are sleeping right now =D

Ok so here we go. have 3 now that have taken off instead of the first 2. Other 2 are looking kinda wimpy, but they had the seed shell still on the leaves. So i just lightly crunched it with some needle nose plyers and it basically fell off on its own. So hopefully they will shoot up now like the rest.

Heres some updated pics. First 2 are the first ones to sprout, but as you can see, the one on the end caught up with em! hehe

Your on your way now Slojo. Great start. Just a tip for ya, but you did good, dont filll the pots quite as high with soil so as they stetch you can keep adding soil. It will help support their skinny stems and they will start rooting there to as well...I like a small fan blowing on mine so they wiggle back and forth, it will make the stems get thicker. Just a thought...

Oh man, ya, thanks for the tip, never even thought about that about the soil. I filled up the pots completly full and it sunk down that much from watering. Its really spongy. But ya, ill definetly keep that in mind for next time.

And ya, got my fan goin in the corner there, i have a window open kinda by the fan that is slightly cracked as well.

Also not sure if you can see in the pics, but are they in need of some soil now? or should i wait a tad more? theres about 3 inches of play room to add soil in some of the pots now. It might sink more too i dont know, like i said its really spongy stuff hehe

Yep, was told it was very good for seeds and clones, didnt wanna mess with the cube thingers yet.

It is very good stuff for seedlings. It stimulates root growth. I have germed seeds in it but NOT a pot full! It has no nutients in it and can hold way too much water by its self and takes forever to dry out. So watch the watering. I had it rot a seedling where it meets the soil because I keep it too wet. Little seedling use up water very slowly. It that pot I would have filled it with a good potting soil then make a depression in the ceter about an inch or 2 wide and deep then fill that part with the LW and place the seed there. As it grows the roots will reach the potting soil and have some food avalable for them. I start in 9 oz cups so I can control it and the moisture better. Let me find a pic for. Ill be back.

Hmmm, maybe i was fed bad info, but i was told light warrior would be fine until i transplant for vegging cycle, which will be in FFOF, and that soil would be good for about 2 weeks as far as nutes go. yer shooting down my plans man! lol but no this is what im lookin for, slap me around a bit and tell me whats up!

By all means try it and see for yourself. Go read the bag on the back. I havnt tried it like that so maybe it will. For seedlings Im sure it could be fine for a couple weeks idk. I didnt mean to mess up your plans. There are many ways to do things. In no expert but I have done this for over 2 years and on my 5th round. Read a ton of threads, Tried a lot of things. You have to weed through the bull shit on here. Any thing I say comes from my own eyes. I have taken bits and peices from awesome growers on here and trial and error and came up with my own way, its not the only way, just my way.

Fo sho man. And you didnt mess nothin up hehe i was just talkin. I'll definitely try the less soil and light warrior in potting soil next time. But my next time is going to be clones off these guys inside the cubes. after i mess with cloning i think im going to try that papaya strain from seed, so ill try it then. And i feel ya about reading through all the BS, so many threads conflict with other threads left and right. I figured it would be alot of trial and error. But we'll cross that bridge when i get to it, which is already coming close!

Anyways, thanks for the tips bro, im heading to bed, 4:30 am is my limit hehe. Ill update more later when something happens
