Just got busted with 3 plants but recieved no charges.?.?

odd, you must be talking about the odor from the moss phlox growing in the basement. It isn't weed until it's tested in a lab. There are things that smell just like weed. This odor bullshit should be stopped.

A lot of times they don't charge you right away when it comes to drugs. A narcotics cop will contact you and see of you're willing to work with them before they decide what charges to push. Someone ratted on you and they did a knock and talk, if you would have never opened the door nothing would have happened.

And to the kids thinking people go around impersonating uniformed cops to steal 3 plants you need to put the crack pipe down. Real impersonators wear plain clothes and just have a fake badge and possibly weapons, use your damn heads.

Probably got a complaint. Did it as a Warning. ( You have been Warned)

Heres my opinion op.
small grow ops are not a big deal...
cop most likely didnt want to have to deal with a ridiculous amount of paperwork, court appearances, and the hassle for some young kid
growing a couple weed plants...if it was obviously for personal its not
something that they care about.

however more importantly was the way that they discovered your grow...

Imo I would not be surpised that he didnt pursue legal action because how the grow was discovered was no legal.
im no lawyer but il ask mine next time I see her what rights you should have had under this circumstance.

Bottom line is...dont answer without a warrant. And if they have a warrant
trust me you will know they will just kick your door down anyway.

And if they somehow gain entry into your place, just say your scared and you wanna talk to a lawyer before u will say anything.

That's not how it works in the states. If a police officer smells marijuana it is considered probable cause. They know a crime is being committed they can go right in.

Most police wouldn't call in a warrant as it would just allow the person to destroy evidence.

ive had police knock on my door while i had 10 people over all smoking bongs and joints they didnt come in.

My buddy had a cop walk right into his apartment without knocking or getting a warrant and it held up in court

Sounds like you got jacked. I got searched one time and they came up with a medicine vial of greenbud. The Cop just said, "Oh Silly Sauce." It went into his pocket and didn't show up in the other charges.

So, what happened with your carbon filter? And around here we don't have to even open the door to cops if they don't have a warrant.

But surely the police have to follow some sort of procedure ?! They come in took what they wanted & walked out ? I mean what the hell are they going to do with it ? They can't book it in & say " yea we just walked in some guys house took the shit & left " why would they do it if there was no intention to arrest even for a few hours ?

People forget police are civil servants . We have just as much rights as they do . It's just a shame they don't teach you stuff like that in school .

if your in Columbus Ohio, they were real cops and like someone else said, one of your buddies got bopped, rolled on you they came and did a knock and talk found that you were only small time, your buddy probably made you out to be a big dealer to get himself off. They were pissed that you had less than an oz and three plants. Officers have family's and wife's that like jewelry and shoes, kids that need this and that. ppl forget that they are reg ppl just like you and I. It would be nothing for them to pull up at the spot and unload your 3 plants for a few hundred bucks to bring home for poker night

I saw that someone posted something about someone calling me and trying to get me to work with the cops---> You were right... That's not going to happen though.. I called my lawyer told him the story, he called the detective, and looks like I am going to get charged with cultivation of marijuana because I am not going to work with them... So, I am hoping that my lawyer can make something work in regards to the way the police handled everything... But as of right now.... I think I am fuckered!!

Good justice is expense. He can find out what sort of donation to who's charity, maybe. Or maybe he has the horsepower to jamb it down their throats. Either way you hope to pay just the cash. Hold nothing back. I got off major weight with only 35 days in county. It cost me. Well. good luck.

I never called him back... I left work yesterday and there was a voice mail from him telling me to call him... I didn't want to call until I spoke to my lawyer about everything... He told me not to call the detective and that he would handle it in the morning... Well, today came and my lawyer called back and told me that they wanted me to work with them or I am probably going to get charged with a 3rd or 4th degree felony depending on the weight of the plants.. I only had 3 of them that in total would have yielded me maybe 10 to 12 ounces... That is only about 340 grams not including the stems and shit.. They did not take the main stem of the plants so that helps a little with the weight.. I really don't think they there is 1000 grams or more so I should not get an F3 charge, but still... Just getting charged fucking sucks and is complete Bullshit... I don't bother anyone... I don't sell... I only grow so I don't have to get robbed when I try to buy it on the streets... I stay home and don't go out joy riding when I smoke... This is just fucked...

Hm that's weird I looked up where I live and it says four or fewer plants is a misdemeanor..
