Just for fun

Three seedlings in some FFOF soil left over from my last grow.

The seeds came from a bag of strawberry cough.

Started the seedlings in a small/basic grow cab with cfls.

One seedling has noticeably wider/rounder leafs than the other two. Have a feeling that it'll end up female.

I have two 85 (actual wattage) CFLs on their way, so I'll have around 170 watts of light. I doubt all three plants will end up female so that should be enough to flower 1 or 2 plants. but I don't think they're going to fit in the current box because they're 9 inches in length, which I didn't realize when I made the purchase. Soooo it looks like I'll be crafting a new grow space.

The seedlings are going to be transplanted into recipe 420 organic soil, I wanted to try something other than fox farm soil.

" Recipe 420 is a blend of premium aged fir bark, coir, sphagnum peat moss, pumice, earthworm castings, seabird guano, crab meal, and humic acids. Enhanced with mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial soil bacteria. This soils pH is 6.5"

I'll be using up the rest of my fox farm nutrients for this grow. I've got grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom

Leaf size has nothing to do with gender. Also it looks like they may be a little saturated with water. How much were those 85 watt cfls

Have a feeling that it'll end up female. ...I to wish feelings were correct but not in your case, feelings don't and can't make up for the required study, but RIU can!

I took the picture pretty soon after watering, I usually do it every three days or whenever the soils looking dried out on top.

Picked the bulbs up on eBay for 20

I've only had one successful harvest and that was outdoor so I've still got a lot to learn :p

Yesterday I woke up to mold growing on the bottom of the cups.

I transplanted very carefully and tried to remove as much of the soil from the root ball as possible, in case there were mold spores in the soil.

I think the main issue was the use of styrofoam cups, this is the first time I've used them to start seeds in/the first time I've encountered mold.

Plants were droopy when I first transplanted but this morning when I checked they were looking happy again.
