Liberals claim that resident illegals do pay taxes, albeit indirectly. When they pay rent, their landlord uses that money to pay property taxes. When they buy groceries, clothing or other household items, they pay sales tax. This, the liberals say, supports the economy.

What they do not realize, however, is how much illegal immigration costs as a result of the taxes illegal immigrants do not pay.

For example, when children are brought into the country illegally and use the American educational system, their parents are not paying the local municipal taxes that provide for their children's education. The problems are more than financial, however. As we've shown, American citizens in the employment sector are denied opportunities every day thanks to illegal immigration. Opportunities are also blocked in the academic community, as well. A college mandated to meet a racial quota may reject an American citizen or a legal immigrant in favor of an illegal immigrant with the appropriate cultural background.

Despite the urgent need to pass comprehensive immigration reform, President Barack Obama recently announced his administration will do nothing to address the problem "this year." Somehow Obama believes the trouble with the economy and the trouble with immigration are mutually exclusive.

Don't expect to see much from the Obama administration on immigration reform at all, unless it is to ease the way for illegals. There are rumors that Obama will make some sort of policy statement regarding illegal immigration in May.

Close the borders and send those mother fuckers back. I'm against all illegals. Which includes Eurotrash too. If they're sneaking in it means they got something to hide. That's not someone you want as an immigrant. This isn't Australia who were founded by criminals.

I got nothing against immigrants only cheaters like the OP. If the OP loves illegals so much, he should invite them to live at his place rent free and be responsible for any crimes they commit. Otherwise, STFU!

I dont think its the
-Law
-paperwork
-expense
it probably has something to do with the 18 year wait to get a visa for Mexicans who wish to join their family which is already here

So illegals dont pay rent and they are all criminals?

We got illegals living around here. Nice neighbors. You only hear the accordian music on the weekends

nobody ever mentions the payroll aspect of the undocumented; if you think they don't pay payroll taxes..think again.

Tax Day is an appropriate time to underscore the often-overlooked fact that unauthorized immigrants pay taxes. The unauthorized, like everyone else in the United States, pay sales taxes. They also pay property taxes—even if they rent. At least half of unauthorized immigrants pay income taxes. Add this all up and it amounts to billions in revenue to state and local governments. The Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) has estimated the state and local taxes paid in 2010 by households that are headed by unauthorized immigrants. These households may include members who are U.S. citizens or legal immigrants. Collectively, these households paid $11.2 billion in state and local taxes. That included $1.2 billion in personal income taxes, $1.6 billion in property taxes, and $8.4 billion in sales taxes. The states receiving the most tax revenue from households headed by unauthorized immigrants were California ($2.7 billion), Texas ($1.6 billion), Florida ($806.8 million), New York ($662.4 million), and Illinois ($499.2 million) {See Figure 1 and Table 1}. These figures should be kept in mind as politicians and commentators continue with the seemingly endless debate over what to do with unauthorized immigrants already living in the United States. In spite of the fact that they lack legal status, these immigrants—and their family members—are adding value to the U.S. economy; not only as taxpayers, but as workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs as well.





Methodology


These estimates are based on a model developed by the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP). The ITEP methodology relies on three pieces of data: 1) an estimate of each state’s unauthorized population; 2) the average family income for unauthorized immigrants; and 3) state-specific tax payments. Of course, it is difficult to know precisely how much these families pay in taxes, because the spending and income behavior of these families is not as well documented as is the case for U.S. citizens. But these estimates represent a sensible best approximation of the taxes these families likely pay.


Estimates of each state’s unauthorized population are from the Pew Hispanic Center and based on 2010 Census data. There were an estimated 11.2 million unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. as of 2010. Pew has also estimated the unauthorized population for each state. Pew has found that unauthorized immigrants are likely to be less educated than native-born U.S. citizens and legal immigrants, and they tend to work in low-wage jobs. Thus the average family income of the unauthorized population is lower than the average family income for U.S. citizens or legal immigrants. The average income of a household headed by an unauthorized immigrant is estimated to be $36,000; 10 percent of which goes towards remittances to family members in countries of origin.


ITEP maintains detailed tax information for each state, and models how tax structures affect different income groups in each state. ITEP has estimated the amount of sales, income, and property tax the average unauthorized family pays.


  • Sales tax is automatic, so it is assumed that unauthorized residents would pay sales tax at similar rates to U.S. citizens and legal immigrants with similar income levels.
  • Similar to sales tax, property taxes are hard to avoid, and unauthorized immigrants are assumed to pay the same property taxes as others with the same income level. ITEP assumes that most unauthorized immigrants are renters, and only calculates the taxes paid by renters.
  • Income tax contributions by the unauthorized population are less comparable to other populations because many unauthorized immigrants work “off the books” and income taxes are not automatically withheld from their paychecks. ITEP conservatively estimates that 50 percent of unauthorized immigrants are paying income taxes.

I thought that was were real estate taxes came in.

Property taxes are likely unavoidable, even for renters. Landlords pass on apartment taxes by padding the rent, which undocumented immigrants help to pay. An April 2013 Social Security Administration report estimated that undocumented immigrants and their employers paid $13 billion in payroll taxes. And according to a recent Harvard University study, undocumented immigrants’ payroll contributions to Medicare totaled more than $3 billion each year.

and that's only for SSA..they don't even have a figure for the "unclaimed" federal withholding dollars..

A friend of mine in the military had his family stalked and attacked by illegals who knew he was away stationed abroad because those illegal dipshits had a hate boner over American imperialism. So not to cause an incident over it and enrage the illegal population, no one did a thing.

Mine were accepted here because of political asylum when the communists took over and starved my great great grandparents who were invited by Catherine the not so Great whose people were too stupid to grow and had to get people like my ancestors to teach the dummy Ruskies.

My ancestors then used their knowledge to feee people during the Great Depression.

What are these illegals doing which compare?

Here's a question..

What the fuck would you do with all the kids born in America, making them American citizens, by illegal immigrants?

You gonna deport American citizens because their parents are illegal aliens?

If not, do you plan on throwing kids out on the street to fend for themselves and increase the child poverty rate that's already an issue?
