there are those who control and those who are controlled by either pleasure or addiction.

do you agree or do you disagree?

I agree.
I think it's just part of your personality. Some people just get addicted easily. I've got a buddy who can be addicted to anything from cigs/drugs to video games. He veg'd in front of the TV for damn near a week back when Halo2 came out. I didn't believe weed was addictive until I met this guy, and I won't even go into the drug problems.

On the other hand, I like to think that I do NOT have an addictive personality. Granted I can be addicted to things just like anyone else, they just don't rule my world. So, I smoke cigs. I know, bad habit. Need to quit. However, I will often go a few days without one just because I don't really feel like smoking.
Back to the point.
I agree that some people are controlled by their addictions, and others can control their pleasures.

absolutely. im not a person who gets addicted to things easily. but other people i knew growing up were addicted to all kinds of things. i could smoke weed every day for a month straight...then just stop. for whatever reason, i dont want to or i run out and im broke...but im not bothered by the fact that i dont have any, or that im not smoking. other people i know would be freaking right out...lol. some addictions...like weed...are purely psychological. weed is not a physically addicting substance. but it can be very psychologically addicting and lots of people develop a habit or dependence. same with video games and stuff.

yeah i was really high when i wrote this and wondered where people stood on it but realised halfway through thought that it was an invalid question since there are people who control and pleasure + pain are two different driving forces.
