The trim went really well, she was able to snip and jar after 2 days of drying. The humidity here has been about 3% so I got to it just before she dried too much. I just put the buds in a paper bag for an extra few hours, then the buds will return to the jar for curing! I'm amazed at how much water weight I didn't lose in the drying. The buds were rock hard while I was trimming, usually they are a little squishy.. not with GDP, these buds are dense! I was able to set aside about 5 or 6oz of trim (popcorn buds and fan leaves coated in trichomes) for hash later on. I still have 2 plants to trim up and cut down which will probably happen tomorrow. I imagine I'll be losing a little bit of weight still with the cure but hopefully not much. One bud as you can see (the top of the cola) weighed in at just under 10g. The weigh in this morning was 3.85 oz/110g and I'll be back to report the final weight when it's ready. But for now I have a pretty jar of purple and green! It doesn't get much better than this :leaf:

I finished trimming plant number two yesterday and took a few shots of this one for you all. She's much more purple, and so frosty I could barely cut it! I can't believe how beautiful these plants are turning out to be. This plant yielded approx. 3.35oz. I'm sure the number will go down a little bit though. I'll update with the third and last plant tomorrow!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long but the longer the better for the cure anyways, right?? Happy to say I've moved and looking forward to my next medical grow, which I'll be making another journal for as this will be my last entry in this journal, unless you all would like to chat :)

Thank you everyone for following my GDP grow. I am happy to say that in the end after about a month long cure I was able to come away with about an 8 oz weight from my 3 girls. My next grow will be 3 plants as well, but hoping to get my LST perfect this time around so I don't stress them out too much. And hopefully a better yield next time.

Here is the best picture I could get.. I don't have a macro lens or anything but here's a cured bud. The buds fully cured are VERY dense and almost difficult to break apart. When in the grinder, you get that nice powdery green appeal. I don't know if this is thanks in part to the AN Big Bud or the strain but either way it is the most dense bud I have ever grown.

What I do have to say is that this grow was a serious pleasure with tremendously amazing results. Although the majority of the buds are not purple, the few that are add some nice bag appeal, but the colors this plant turns during its last few weeks of flowering are gorgeous. The plants were not heavy feeders and the visual comparisons between the plants were very consistent with the breeder's descriptions. They were very easy to care for in the end, and I didn't have any major problems regarding feeding, nutrients, deficiencies, etc.

One plant is exceptionally pleasurable to smoke and has very fruity undertones when exhaling, which would have been a keeper if I would have ended up breeding these together. All together the smoke is sweet but heavy (does that make sense?) like most indicas. If I motivate myself hard enough to be productive I can regularly function on GDP but what it really wants to do is relax you! I suffer from a disorder that gives me many different types of chronic pain and I have to say the GDP works like a dream for my pain. It often stops it just as it starts, and improves the quality of even my bad days. I would love to hear of other pain sufferers that benefit from GDP and if you haven't grown it yet - DO IT! I'm so happy I did and I always want to have some on hand now! This strain is a keeper for sure.

Thanks everyone come join me on my next grow!!

They look like you needed to give them another week. But if you like mostly clear its fine. They all look dank. I heared that kens gdp only has flavor and not potency like cali gdp. Whats your smoke report. Give one if you can

I always harvest when trichomes are mostly milky, on this grow I had mostly milky and amber at harvest, not clear. Ken's GDP has unbelievable potency, not just taste. Only one of my plants had a superior taste, but I think this also comes down to growing skill. There hasn't been a single hit I've taken that was sub par, even from little tiny buds. 3 months later I still have all of my dried trimmings waiting to be hashed, I will probably get around to that soon as I'm almost out of this GDP. I didn't get anything tested so I can't come here saying I have a guaranteed analysis but anyone looking for a really solid, great yielding purple indica doesn't need to look much further. I've seen a lot of people on here saying this strain isn't potent and I just have no idea where that's coming from. My results were much better than anticipated and I'll be growing this for a while. It's a very heavy and resinous smoke that'll clog up your pipe quick or leave you cleaning your pieces regularly. Ill try to come back and do a report on the hash but no doubt it'll be as good or better than the crop. I will say that between smoking 3 different tasting plants, I never got tired of GDP. I usually need a variety in my smoking but this was so pleasant it was always nice. I will say that I have bought GDP at a dispensary and it was a load of crap. Whatever that grower did, I didn't do. There's always a chance of failure or lack of results, but the age old question, is it the grower or the plant? You decide.

Sweet! Thanks for the journal. I'm starting a small run of GDP right now, and you have me pumped for it.
