i got this 400 watt hps ballast kit along with a 400 hps bulb.

I got 2 plants growing rite now and one of them is 2 feet and the otha is half its size but theyre still the same age and have the same amount of nodes
They might be two diff strains-they were bagseeds

I want to start flowering as soon as my shit gets here, but my bulb has no reflector so its probably going to be hanging vertically over the plants

Will this one bulb be enuff for the two? Im worrying that the shorter one of the 2 might stretch for the light while the other one is getting the best light possible

What is the best possible way to setup the light so both go under flowering with minimum disadvantanges?

ummmm if you mean is one 400watt hps light enuff for tour two plants then the answer is yes as for how to set it up for both to get good light I would recommend getting a reflector that is adjustable to spread the light out a little bit in both plant directions but I'm using CFL's for my grow(low on $) so I really don't know if a reflector would be absolutely needed to get sufficient lighting to both plants w/400watt HPS

Hope this help a wee bit

your light will be enough for your 2 plants, as for the short plant put a book or something like that under the pot to make the hight up then you will have level plants...

sounds odd not getting a reflector if you bought it as a kit...but hey make your own out of cardboard coverd with mylar? or get dwn to your local hardware shop and look around for something you can use to make a reflector with ie stainless steel, chrome ect

I would think you will aok with 2 plants and a 400w HPS.
But seriously, get a reflector or make one - you will have better results.

How are your plants living now (are they under any lights/are they potted and getting sunlight)?
