yo all,

first of all, i had a post up last week on ppm questions and was too busy to follow up on it - so thanks to all those who answered. preciate it.

these five lovely ladies are jock horrors i got from nirvanna and are now @ day 45. they are lookin fan-fuckin-tastic except for being way small for their age. tallest one is 27cm, shortest @ 23cm.
thinkin it might be the 3.5 liter containers they're in. i'll move them up tomorrow to 7liters and hope it'll do something. cause i was planning on flowering these by now.

anyways, enjoy the pics. i'll update as it goes along.

I doubt that it's the size of the pot you need to be concerned with.

How do you measure the ph? Did I answer your ppm question?

Either way, there is a definite ph problem, and I believe this has caused lock-out. You should see signs of deficiency on the leaves.

You need to flush the plants, allow to recover... then feed with a regulated ph and ec/ppm feed.

ph problem? doubt it. i ph to about 6.2. absolutely NO signs of any deficiency whatsoever on the leaves. great healthy shade of green, with no signs of stress (except for some heat stress about two weeks ago which was solved by raising the light a bit).
i'm still vegin under 18/6 with 400w HPS lamp.

oh yeah - and thanks for the answer on the ppm question!

What are you thanking me for? I've only just posted in there after reading this post. Made me check on it.

After 45 days of stunted growth you feel you haven't got ph problems? What are you using to check ph? and are you checking ppm?

confused you with someone else from the other post. by bad, bro :joint:

anyways - i really dont think that there's a ph or ppm issue here. i'm using a standard ph kit to check my water after ro (ph 7) and after mixing the nute solution (always 6 - 6.5). fletch confirmed in the other post that the flora series nutes are known for low ppm readings (my nute solution is @ 450 or so).

and besides - plants are looking very happy except for being circus midgets.

guess there must be something else at work here.

So you're using liquid litmus...

I'm just thinking that with all that perlite in there this is almost a hydro grow.

6.2 wouldn't be too bad, but you can't tell 6.2 from colour.

A couple of weeks ago, around week 4 you should have peaked your ppms to 1.0-1.2ec or 700-840ppm.

You may say your plants are not undernuted but i have seen signs on your leaves.

You have an undernuting problem, and i believe this is also caused through a ph lockout in your medium as well as feeding the wrong levels of nutes throughout veg'.

The answers are always the same.

what signs on what leaves?
cause they really do look fine to me...
You don't see the red veins running down your leaves, nor the red/purple leaf stems?

Your pictures are very vague... but when you know what to look for the signs are visible in your pic's.

What do you want? For me to tell you that this is some unexplainable event and for you to carry on regardless?

Fine, do what you want.

Other than being tiny for their age they look healthy to me. Im not sure about jock horror but some of the strains I am growing keep a little red in the stems and veins. Your plants do look small though. Since they are under a hps light its hard to see what shade of green they are.

I think he is just asking so he can learn the signs. No need for you to be such a dick Skunk.
The guy's obviously in denial... the reference to vague pictures I made. Get it? They're vague for a reason.

He WANTS to be told his plants look fine...

and red stems or petioles at this stage of growth is NEVER ok. This shows a lack of chlorophyl, which means the plants are not photosynthesising properly. Which can be for a number of reasons.

Get it yet?

I know there is a problem and believe he is aware that there is a problem or he wouldnt call them circus midgits. All signs that he is aware of show a healthy plant. Whether it is true or not, I have read that leaf stems sometimes are purplish do to genetics. So I can understand how many people would put this off as not being a problem. Your suggestions on possible problems is appreciated by me as I am here to learn, even if the dude seems to think there is no problem. But your suggetions are making him second guess his methods, I do believe. I just hate seeing the sarcasom that may turn this member away from making any more inquaries about your suggestions. This stops the chance for me to gain more knowledge on the subject.

Get it.

ok ok ok. time to put an end to all this hostility:peace:
skunk, mate - i asked bout the leaves because i really wanted to know. sorry if it came out aggressive or anything mate, but that was not the intent.

i put this post up because HELL YEAH there's something wrong with my plants - they are midgets. and slow-growing midgets which is even worse.

anyways, in the meantime, i've gone over the entire system from head to foot looking for other possible causes, because the one thing i'm feeling good with (and have LOTS of experience with other plants) is the feeding.
so i went over the system and found the climate control croaked. so apparently these babies have been getting 6 hours of about 14 degrees C each day for who knows how long.
possible reason?

and just to be clear here skunk - you've got SHITLOADS more experience with these plants than i do. you know what you're saying much more than me when it comes to the ganja. i was just saying that i really think the nutes are fine. going with the recommended dosage, and other sources also say that GH flora series are known for low ppms.
peace bro:mrgreen:
