Hey Folks,

This is my second grow in this Cabinet and fourth grow in all. This time around I’ll be running JinxProof Genetics- MadCap: 9Lb Hammer (Gooberry & Jesus OG Kush) x Mothertongue (Electric Watermelon & Jesus OG Kush). Jinxproof used to be apart of TGA, he was responsible for breeding the 9LB Hammer, which won best Indica in The High Times Michigan Cannabis Cup ‘17.

It’s been an interesting grow so far. I sprouted 3 seeds inside in which only 2 made it and had to take it outside all the while only 1 made it. Luckily for me the one to live turned out to be female. The plant has beautiful slender, but not skinny, leaves that are asymmetrical in shape and look like the kind of cannabis you would see as an illustration in a text book. Her stem rubs smell like lemon cleaner ending with a soapy fragrance. The growth has been vigorous with quite a bit of side growth happening. When I topped her, she didn’t skip a beat, with compensating lower branches and the resulting top lone node branch grew quickly.

The light I’m using right now is a 3K HLG65 from Horticulture Lighting Group for veg and in a month I am going to buy either a 150watt Vero29 Triple COB Array Kit, 100watt CREE CXB3590 COB LED, or a Quantum Board from HLG QB288 V2. The kicker is, I live in the south where the weather is hot and I have no central air, only window units, so lights getting too hot is a concern. Also the Cabinets dimension are 16”x32”x60” so nothing above 150 Watts, there will be only one plant that I hope to ScrOG/LST

It’s Day 46 in Veg and I’m planning on taking her at least two more weeks, maybe a month. In 2-3 weeks I’ll be harvesting my worm castings, in which i’ll Top dress the plant and flip to flower 5 days afterwards.

Voting for the QB’s for your setup primarily for its very thin profile would give you the most room to work with advantage I would think.

If concerned about heat, easily with qb’s just get more light than needed and run at 50-70% like i do and they’ll run super cool.

.....that electric watermelon sounds delish

Day 50

Hey Folks,

I’ll admit it, out of everything I think I know about Cannabis, watering is a subject I know the least about. let me walk you through the last 14 days with me, including recipes, and how I water.

Up until the 15th the plant has been outside and it’s been raining a lot lately almost everyday. The night of the 15th I gave her an IPM regimen: per quart
2tsp Neem Oil,
1/3tsp Dr Bronners,
Aloe Vera powder (Build a Soil), and fulvex. Btw that is not my recipe, I found that on the Internet, I used other recipes but they burned my leaves or put black spots on them. This recipe has worked for me thus far. On the 20th I gave another IPM (I do it every 5 days) recipe as follows per 2qt 1/8tsp Aloe Vera
1/8tsp Silicate
1/8tsp fulvex
2tsp Neem Oil
2/3 Dr Bronners

Also on the evening of the 20th the plant started to droop, so I checked the soil and it felt dry 2 inches in. So I watered her with this recipe per half gallon

1/8tsp Silicate
20ml of Coconut Water (Organic no additives from Zico)
1/2 tbsp Of Molasses

My method of watering is i’ll pour in the center until the top is almost all under water and then I let it absorb then wait a few seconds then repeat until water comes out the bottom. There was run off but it wasn’t 20% more like 10%. Once I see water come out I stop.

The next morning the plant perked up, but maybe a tiny bit droopy. Two days later from watering, it looked droopy again. I looked under the pot and saw a root coming out a drainage hole and thought maybe it’s drinking a lot. I checked the soil two inches out from the stalk and around it, again 1-2inches it felt dry. So again I watered with a half gal and my plant is still drooping. There is an inch of cedar wood mulch on top, is that too much? Last time I watered it the top inch didn’t even get wet, and the water drained pretty quick. Y’all I’m stumped. I haven’t been giving her Epsom Salt, although the soil was amended with oyster shell and gypsum.

Current temp high 84
Humidity 50-60

Lights are 12inches from the tops

This has been a problem for me and I don’t know how to fix it. I keep running into this problem and I’m beyond frustrated.

It’s been 3 days since I watered it and it still looks droopy as hell. The Stems are purple striping, just like my last two grows which makes me think it’s not genetics. Is the pH off?

What is your method? What has worked for you?
What can I correct?
What can I look at for?

Constructive criticism is always welcome, I’m asking for it!

Hey dank, its my 1st gro so really i dont know man, im the worst person to give advise...... Im using coco and water 3 times a day lol. One thing i would check is drainage, drill extra holes if needed...use the weight of the container as a guide to when to water, not the dry soil on top...

I'd say you're plants look fine, bit overwatered or under. Mine did the same thing constantly in veg and looked a lot worse than that , they pulled thru. Color looks great on yours is the main thing. you'll be fine

Thank you for your help, honesty, and humbleness. I think it’ll pull through too. It’s still growing and getting taller and bushier. I want to LST it but I’m afraid it'd Be too much. The undergrowth is growing quite a bit and i’d Like to get some light to it without hurting it.

I think next time I’m going to mix and amend my own soil. I’m really tired of this, this has happened my last three grows. It also doesn’t help that I follow people that grow it so seamlessly. It kind of makes me wonder if those folks are being honest or doing it for the likes and hiding the problems.

Here is my soil recipe

Let them dry out . They’re drooping because it appears as if it’s too much water in the leaves. Also if you pot up during veg and use soil like ffof or happy frog , there’s no need to feed during veg. Subbed in and I’m no expert but any questions I can answer I will. Good luck , I’m confident this can be reversed.

Thank you so much! Yeah I put turned the inline extraction fan all the way up. It’s also been hella- humid and raining almost everyday

Yeah, that’s been something I have needed to get, I’m guessing you’ll be getting an industrial one? I’m looking at a small one like for a closet. I’ve looked for journals where someone used one, but haven’t had any luck
I have one of the closet ones it’s on the floor between my plants ( look closely you’ll see it ) it’s drawing water but it doesn’t move the RH period. Looked on Offer Up and saw a few for around 100$ I’ll go with one of those stuff it into the tent.

Yeah that’s what I figured, I always stayed away from those. Well Fuck. I’ll be checking in on your grow to see whatchya do. I’ll figure it out, it’s funny you try and grow a plant and it ends up growing you. I’ve had to learn valuable lessons from growing, and I’m glad I have

I thought it would get easier each time but nope. I’m always battling cal-mag or some other crap fighting to keep it contained. This humidity thing wasn’t a problem with 3 plants, I’m still learning f*cking up along with way. Throwing off ph and going cal-mag crazy lol.

It seems like my plant is not drinking water, its still moist and inch in
If the pot feels light then it’s still drinking. When I did have a plant that stayed heavy it stopped developing about 5/6 weeks into flower. I assumed I had ph lockout but I’ve never really gotten a answer for what caused it. My guess ... over fertilization.

So I have a bit of a plot twist. When I was transplanting, it looked root bound. So I didn’t knock any loose dirt as there was none it was completely enveloped in roots. The root system was spread throughout the soil so shaking or tearing roots off would have done more harm than good. I transplanted the 2-3 gallon in a 5gal smart pot with 90%FFOF and 10% Vermiculite. After 30 mins of watering the leaves did perk up. Honestly I don’t know what to expect from here.

On a side note the FFOF is super fluffyseems like it drains really well, better than Vermisoil/fire. I believe in past grows the drainage wasn’t all that great using Vermi but I got a good feeling about thisFFOF. Anyways here are the pictures

The FFOF is full of good stuff and does drain well. I use it and don’t add anything else for 4 weeks , except cal-mag and a couple of seaweed waterings. You only have to water for the next few weeks since you transplanted. Good luck

Hey folks,

I bought a ph/NPK soil test kit and tested the spoil’s ph. It was as others suspected:Alkaline. This is an amateur test kit from Lowe’s which also identifies levels of NPK. As per @grilledcheese101 advice, im going to put top dress two cups of used medium roast coffee either today or tomorrow depending on how much it drank today. It is raining outside so I might put outside to get that ph balanced water with natural minerals and good bacteria. I’m leaving for vacation soon, so I hope this does the trick. My last ditch effort is to top dress with Worm Castings in week or two. Worms actually balance pH... or they die. If they die, that’s also how you know the pH is off. If I can’t revive her I’m just going to pop one off my Nirvana Fem Blue Mystics.

I really hope this pulls through or at least I can get a clone off of her. She has desirable traits that she’s already showing, and I don’t really want to grow that Blue Mystic, I’ve grown it so many times, I’m ready for something waaaaaaay better

If you have any advice please post
