I'm starting a thread about my grow in my attic, i guess this will be like a journal of some sort to show you what i'm workin with and to get advice from experienced growers about plants and the grow room itself. together we'll DO WORK. :fire:

stay tuned for future installments

i have a very tight but long attic. it runs about 5 ft high in a apex to the ceiling making things kinda cramped if i wanna grow stativas. but one good part is there is some length here. i have built a small side room with door. idk what im going to end up making this into but its 4ft in height, the front is 46 inches x sides 65 long (approx). It gets hot up here esp on hot 85 90 degree days. stay tuned

Many people (most of which forget that cannabis grows between the tropics mainly) will say heat over 75 is bad, believe me my loft gets up to 90 and as long as you keep an eye on things it is fine. My loft is only 6 ft at the apex so I only grow plants to about 2ft max but fim and lst. If you want to grow sativas then i suggets setting up a horizontal grow. Once the plant gets to about 6'' top or fim them and train the resulting tops (I usually get 5) into a star shape. This way you can slot many plants into a small area as the branches can be trained to fill the gaps of the others. Hard to explain without a picture! Alternatively a scrog is another way of keeping height down without growing loads of small plants. 12/12 from seed is another way that I have been doing for a number of years but really only gets good results (2-4 oz per plant) with Indica's and lots of training. Naysayers on here that havent grown 12/12 will advise against this, mainly because they dont know whats what and believe that bigger is better.

Woomeister whattttupppppppp?

thanks for the quick reply, i currently have plants to have a water supply via waterline or hose into the attic but as of now no. I’ve been carrying 5gal water containers up into the attic after buying them from at store distilled for the dro. when that’s not available filling them up with well water for my soil plants. Ill explain my current setup in a lil. good shit:fire:

+rep for whoever tells me what this is?
Probably wrong, but it looks like the heat pad in my propagator! All looks good, if you dont throw those bigger plants into flower soon though height will definitely be an issue. Also, when the heat is high make sure you set the fan to blow above your plant at a 45 degree angle otherwise the fan acts like a hairdryer and burns them especially in early flower, you can lose all new pistil growth causing stunted growth. As for your side room- I would personally see which plant turns out the stongest and take clones, keep a mother and clone from her a dozen every 2-3 weeks and then use your main area as a permanent 12/12 flowering room. This would work really well for you as you have height limitations. +rep for the ambitious setup!:weed:

thanks man! it got up to 94 in there today. HOTTTTTTTTTT. welp, bumperooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
You need to insulate and improve ventilation that is the only way you will get the heat down in your attic. Attic's are really bad places to grow unless you insulate them well.

its really insulated already but yea ventilation is on my list. i am planning on getting a big CAP fan and/or maybe a portable air conditioner sometime soon. i am blown 2 box fans, one mini oscillater, and one big one as of now

I was going to suggest a portable air con unit, be careful to check what your voltage/ampage maximum is up there as before you know it you will be using a lot of juice. If you do get an air/con unit get one that is also a dehumidifier, good ones cost about £299 in the UK. A few years back they were nearer £500!

You can get a good portable AC for 300-350 but it will have to be vented outside. That will definitely keep it cool. Those also work as humidifiers not dehumidifiers so you may also need a dehumidifier. Even upper 80s is too hot.
