BTW smelly, got the meter in and all figured out. i mixed a gallon of water I have been feeding (molasses, bloom, and purple maxx) and got a reading of 1980 uS. So I guess thats around 990 ppm @ 1.98ms? am I saying that right?? lol
Yep thats right :) Thats also right about what I'm feeding my girls @ full strength! I would be flushing every 3rd watering with a decent amount of runoff if your feeding full strength every feeding. Start checking the runoff ec too and you will notice that the salts build up pretty quick at full strength that why I recommended the flush
Your screen is filling in nice, you will be happy when its all said and done for sure:)

Smelly, you are the man! Im actually in the middle of flushing right now but thanks for the tip to check my run off! I was flushing right now because the next feeding, the girls will get all the goodies. Bloom, Big Bud, Purple Max, and cal-mag. Ill do that for about a week (2 or 3 waterings), flush, and then substitute Overdrive for Big Bud, and then flush. looks like harvest will be around valentines day.

Im definitely seeing trichs everywhere and I am honestly shocked at how covered the leaves are right now. the trichs are tiny, but they are there. I cant say how much smelly and Jay have helped me through this, as well as browsing grow after grow as much as possible for the last few months. the next round will be pretty exciting, im thinking. thanks again guys bongsmilie

No problem homie! Its all you brotha, where just here to point you in the right direction :) Thats a good sign, early tric development means good genetics :)

Its sounds like you have it dialed in pretty good bro just don't go to crazy on the nutes! Remember if it aint broke dont fix it, less is better if your plants are happy and non difficient! Stay high, Peace!

BTW it sucks about the coffie can! If you have room you have plenty of time to start another if you want!

haha my friend was just asking me "how the fuck do you feed nutes every watering???" I told him its more like nutes nutes nutes flush nute nutes nutes flush and so on. they were amazed and I told them its because im conservative with my nutes. i'd rather give them less than what they need than more; thats easier to recover from. but with this meter, I've been able to play around with the mixtures a bunch and am still working on a good balance for the first big bud feeding, probably this tuesday or wednesday. from then on, its trial and error (well, it kinda always has been trial and error, but you know what I mean.)

lights are off, work is done. weed is lit. bongsmilie

edit : i emptied the run-off trays and put them back in. the water coming out now is reading A LOT lower. like a ppm of 40-50. thats more like it. phew lol

1.1 isn't bad, they probably could have used the flush though. I usually try to keep my runoff around what I'm feeding my girls at maybe a bit higher if there doing well. I'm still playing with the runoff ec and feeding aswell! This opened my eyes to a whole new area of growing and you wont find many soil growers who actually monitor there ec/runoff. I would just play with it and see what they like!

Here's an example, my girls where about 2 weeks in and 4 weeks into flowering when I got my meter and they where up around 4.0 EC "runoff" holy hell! So I flushed everything imediatley. To my suprise they still wheren't showing any burn or any sighns of salt buildup, so this made me realize when they say soil is more forgiving, this is what they mean :) If you would have givin that to a hydro girl she would have been burnt immediatily. Anyway, I keep my runoff around 1.9-2.4 right now and it seems to be good but when it gets up around 2-2.4 I give them a nice flush! and try to drop them around 1-1.6 somewhere in there. Everything seems fairly happy this way so thats why I'm telling you ;)

Feeding is tricky but I've been more successful with you approach and when learning it is always better to feed less! Then you can learn how to read when your plants are hungry and tell when they want more or if it was just to much. So for your next few waterings feed them like you normally would and keep an eye on the runoff just make sure it doesn't get to high. good luch homie and let me know if you have anymore issues or questions!

I put the pucks in soil in the cups so the roots dont air-prune when they grow out of the puck. this way I can transplant the pucks into coco in the next couple of days when I get some. Should this be alright? going from soil to coco? this early on I dont think it makes a difference. let me know otherwise

and yes these are custom made red solo cup edition air-pots bongsmilie

I took some time to play with the nutes and I have found an awesome recipe while using Big Bud, giving it a tablespoon+ a teaspoon, along with 1.5 teaspoons of Purple Maxx. with calmag and bloom nutes, PPMs are just above 900 so i should be good. thats a decent amount of goodies for them to eat. However, Im only giving Sour Kush big bud since it flowers later than the other two in there. Jekyll and Yum each got a feeding with Overdrive instead of big bud and the PPMs are almost identical but I wasnt able to use as much overdrive as big bud. im really glad I got the meter to do this shit right. cant thank you enough TreeZ (the +rep is coming asap i promise lol)

thanks zibra. you arent kidding about this stuff.. I just like working with it a lot more than fuckin soil. and im not shitting you, the seedlings went up and out over night since the transplant. I just have the one tangerine and one blueberry but I soaked the coco in some ~150 PPM water before I transplanted the seedlings. I see that yours take a lot more than your other girls so im definitely keeping that in mind. I just need some new air pots and then these will be going into 2.4gal air pots. I'm definitely cloning these strains as well but I wont leave town for a week and let them die. I think thats when i'll do some experimenting with air pots vs. smart pots. but thats still a little ways out - my hands are currently full lol. I'll snap some pics of the big girls later today bongsmilie

a sneak peek inside the tent.

100_0697.jpg

day whatever. around week 4 or something

Yumbolt is on the left. It grew a lot taller than my other 2. Its buds dont look too big right now but the plant has its own unique smell. if it doesnt make some decent buds, this plant will make killer concentrates. Jekyll Passion (black domina x flo) is in the middle getting the most light. It has tons of pistils that are starting to turn yellow. It has a heavy, musky smell. I think it smells like chocolate honestly lol. It has countless colas with nice looking nugs already. Looks like it will be really calyx-y, which I like a lot. Sour Kush (headband) is on the right and is by far the smelliest. Its also the plant I accidentally 'topped' and i think the nugs might be a little smaller because of it. but there are still 4-5 weeks to go so maybe they fatten up
